Kawasaki Other description

This bike is a matching number bike, frame number Z1F-11144, and engine number Z1E 11 27. The remains of the frame tag are still there and it looks like the build date is April 197 . There is clear matching number title with this bike. It has a typical period sixteen rear wheel conversion, and when I got it it had an aftermarket header with the bike, which I pitched because it was pretty rusty. On the plus side this bike DOES have a double disk front brake setup. There are a few misc. parts missing from the bike, but not a lot. I think that 20yrs ago - before these machines became so valuable - someone borrowed a few of these parts for another bike. But whats here seems to be in attractive shape. Ive checked out the engine case amp; frame and see no damage or repairs. The only damage Ive found is a small chip in the fin near the #one cyl spark plug, and thats about it. The bike still seems to have over 90% of its original fasteners too.

Get down on your knees and play

This remarkable shot of Eddie Lawson is taken by Rich Chenet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.
