1994 Kawasaki Ninja 500 (EX500D1)
I purchased this bike over a year ago intending to make it a cafe racer. I spent last winter getting it road worthy and now that it starts, runs, & is safe, I need to offer it for sale as is. I have a clean CT title. I'll do the best I can with pictures. Contact me with any questions. Buyer is responsible for pick up /delivery. Here's a run down on all the services performed: (all parts NEW unless noted) keyless gas cap fuel petcock fuel filter oil change (full syn) & filter coolant flush ProGrip grips bar end mirrors brake fluid flush (full syn) EBC HH pads ss brake lines Kenda tires EK o-ring chain JT sprockets NGK spark plugs aftermarket fork mounted dual headlights fork seals, wipers, oil Progressive Suspension fork springs fork gaiters - deteriorated (only cosmetic & can easily be cut off) I thoroughly cleaned and lubed the rear suspension linkages & replaced the shock with a used one from a late model EX300 with low miles. I retained the original tail light & custom mounted it with a turn signal integrator from my parts bin. I temp mounted a set of front signals from my parts bin. custom ammo box saddle bags rebuilt, jetted, & balanced carbs K&N cone air filters block off plates valve adjustment Deltran Li-ion battery stock headers with Emgo universal mufflers - these are loud! The original color (on the title) was red. I sprayed (black) the handle behind the rear seat & the tank. Bike is still being ridden so mileage may be higher. It is for sale locally & I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time. I will include a full synthetic oil change & filter for the buyer! |

However, two unfortunate and costly blows hit the paddock; the banning of tobacco advertising in 2005 followed by the global economic crisis. The off-shoot saw grid numbers drastically dwindle with staple teams, like Kenny Roberts' outfit, and manufacturers, Kawasaki and Suzuki, succumbing to the events and disappearing.

ZX-10R. Worth the weight?
Thu, 18 Nov 2010The whisper on pit lane is that 2011 will be a good year for the green K. Our moles within the racing circles tell us that apart from more power and less weight (always handy), the new ZX-10R's main advantage is not these two factors but rather its improved weight distribution, weight transference qualities and grip levels. Studying Tom Syke's lap time data from Kawasaki's public test sessions it seems it's much easier for him to maintain consistent fast lap times back-to-back over the whole range of tyre degradation and fuel load changes.
