KTM 690 SMC description

Note: For sale locally and ad can be deleted at any time if a local buyer comes through.

Clean title
23k miles (will go up slightly as I ride)
This bike is completely 100% stock. No FI lights.
Filters/screens and oil were changed every 2500 miles w/ Motorex Cross Power 4T 10W-60

Asking $5200 OBO. Willing to negotiate. If you pick up locally w/ cash, I can reduce the price by a $100 since I'll be avoiding eBay.

This bike is very rare & sought after and that is why the asking price is what it is. Uber light at 305 pounds dry with fully adjustable suspension and 63HP make for an awesome ride. This bike was used purely for commuting so very light use in general.

Most recent maintenance:
- Fresh oil change about 100 miles ago
- New Throttlebodies (replaced at 13k miles)
- New Magura Clutch Master Cylinder (replaced at 17.5k miles)
- Fork seals with fresh oil (replaced at 18k miles)
- Engine Ice / Coolant Flush (20.5k miles)

Major service at 22k miles included:
- Top-end Rebuild
- New D.I.D. Chain & Sprockets
- New Spark Plug
- New Front + Rear Brake Pads
- Front + Rear Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush
- Clutch Fluid Bleed/Flush w/ KTM clutch fluid
- New Pirelli Diablo Rosso II Front Tire

I have ALL maintenance-related records in a KTM bag.

Bad:
Previous owner kept it outside so the plastics and gauge cluster are faded and there is some minor rust. The left side is okay, but the right side looks a little rough as somebody attempted to remove the sticker residue with sandpaper. Overall, I'd give the exterior a 6/10. If you want it to look pretty I'd replace the plastics for a few hundred bucks. The rear brake lever is bent from somebody knocking it over in the parking lot. Mechanically, the bike is in great shape. However, it is prone to stalling when pulling the clutch in and coasting to a stop (common problem on these 690's). Likely a mapping issue and as long as you give the throttle a quick blip as you pull in the clutch the bike is completely fine. It didn't bother the previous owner and hasn't stopped me from riding it or bothered me enough to fix it.

Please scroll through ALL the pictures. I tried to picture any issues as best as I could.

Sold as is.

KTM 390 Duke Confirmed for US for 2014

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

KTM has confirmed the 390 Duke will be brought to the American market for the 2014 model year, making it the first of the Austrian manufacturer’s small-displacement single-cylinder naked models to arrive in the U.S. This timeframe would put the 373cc  Duke a year behind the 2013 launch date from a leaked Powerpoint presentation slide that said it would be available in the U.S. for the 2013 model year as a 350 model.

New: MIVV exhausts for KTM Duke 125 and 200

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Italian exhaust manufacturer MIVV have produced three new slip-on exhausts to fit the Duke 125 and Duke 200. They offer small power gains and save around 1.5kg off the stock exhaust. We like the Ghibli, pictured above.
