Indian board track racer, Motorebike description

1930 Peugeot 100cc board track racer,
This is an Awesome find !!  I Don't know much of the history of this bike , but DO know it's an Original 1930 Peugeot Engine,(for it's age it is in Exceptionally good condition) it has New piston rings, and a VERY strong Magneto. the engine was bench tested with a "test" Carb. it starts up and runs well ,it will come with the "Original" Zenith Carb.. I dont know the condition of it, It  Looks good and clean, might need a rebuild. It WILL need a Throttle Cable.. I did not try riding it, the clutch is slipping a bit, the discs ,and plates look good , so maybe just a clean and adjust. The frame is NOT in original condition however,, it is from that ERA it has the skip tooth Chain, and the frame has the "chain Adjusters" like a motorcycle would have,  the gas tank has a smaller "steel tank " inside  the "Peugeot" Tank shell. I have done The Hard things like disassemble the bike, clean the parts, replace the bearings that needed to be , and repacked the others with grease., the  skip tooth chain,is in great shape with only surface rust, it has been soaked in WD40 and re- oiled. the engine drive chain is NEW.. a new "board track racer seat" was put on , but I do have the original, all that remains is a very rusty metal pad but it will come with the bike.  the tires appear to be original ? they hold air , have some weather cracks but not to bad. I will include a set of New white wall tires. this would be an AWESOME show piece, with an occasional ride through the neighborhood.   ..the Frame has  been modified to be a board track racer  although it is a complete bike, because of it's age, and unknown history this should be considered a "project" and it is sold As Is...  IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE    It WILL come with a New Display stand...   good luck bidding :)     I DO BUILD REPLICAS OF ANY EARLY 1900S MOTORCYCLES USING THE CHINESE TWO STROKE ENGINE.. CONTACT ME FOR PICS. MY PRICES ARE 1/2 OF WHAT EVERYONE ELSE CHARGES.. MY BIKES WERE FEATURED ON HARLEY DAVIDSON FORUM MAGAZINE ( Antique Motorbike Replicas)

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.

2014 Indian Motorcycles Revealed in Sturgis

Sun, 04 Aug 2013

The legend has returned – and its splash is sure to reverberate from Main Street all the way to Juneau Avenue in Milwaukee. The new generation of American V-Twin cruisers made its grand debut in front of a crowd of thousands of enthusiasts and dignitaries at the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame Saturday night. With a flash of spotlights and a haze of smoke machines, Polaris Vice President of Motorcycles Steve Mennetto pulled the wraps off of three new machines: the Chief Classic, the Chief Vintage, and the Chieftain, a fully featured touring machine.

All 50 States Ranked For Highest Motorcycle Ownership Per Capita

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

In a recent study done ranking each of the 50 states (and the District of Columbia) by motorcycle ownership per capita, South Dakota ranked the best. There are a total of 69,284 motorcycles registered in the state, according to the Department of Transportation, and with a total population of 816,598, when you do the math, there’s roughly 12 people in South Dakota for every motorcycle. Considering South Dakota is the home of the Sturgis rally, its ranking on this list may not be much of a surprise.
