Indian Other description

For sale is this beautiful matching numbers 1941 Indian 4 Cyl. I have had the bike for about 6 yrs. It was originally restored in the early 90's by Ken Edmiston and then spent about a decade in the Trev Deely Museum before landing in the stable of a former AMCA president who then sold it to the AMA Museum. I purchased it from a Georgia gentleman who won it in a drawing from the AMA museum. It was reported to be mostly original , a possible former police bike (with right handed throttle) and since I was unable to confirm whether it had an engine rebuild during its Edmiston restoration, I had the engine and transmission completely rebuilt by Conrad Lytle of Fairfield PA in 2009. It has about 200 break-in miles on it since. The speedo was never reset so it still has the miles that were on it when I bought it plus about 200mis. It had new spokes on both wheels, 1 new wheel hub and a new wiring harness put on at the same time the engine was being rebuilt. It has a reproduction ammeter, air cleaner and clutch pedal. I also put on some very nice reproduction period saddlebags and windshield. It has a porcelainized exhaust header and a very nice chrome muffler which definitely gives it that four Cyl growl. It starts easy, runs smooth and shifts well. The tires are vitually new and the engine runs with a rock solid 50 pounds of oil pressure once it's started. It has not been judged by the AMCA that I am aware of nor did I wish to have it judged. The images will tell the story and if that isn't enough, I have attached a link to a video I made of the bike so you can see it fully and hear it run. I have collected several more Indians since this purchase and I am looking to downsize to take on some additional projects. I have really enjoyed this bike but I don't ride enough to keep all the bikes, so something had to go. I want this bike to find a good home with someone who will ride her more often than I can. She's been built for it and is ready to go!

Indian recalls 'rebel' motorcycles

3,341 bikes fell under the service action. The New World has announced a recall of Indians released from October 25, 2016 to November 17, 2017. The problem is that the switch is corroded, which can cause the engine to start unintentionally if the key fob is close to the motorcycle.

Indian introduces new PowerPlus engine

Wed, 20 Nov 2019

The apparatus with a 60-degree camber of the cylinder block can hardly be called the “little brother” of the 1811cc Thunder Stroke 111 engine - its capacity is 1769cc, but in terms of design solutions, the motors are fundamentally different. Let's start with the fact that, according to the manufacturer, the new engine is the most powerful in its class - it develops 121hp at 5500rpm and 178 Nm at 3800 rpm. PowerPlus, like the Scout motor, has an overhead camshaft, is equipped with four valves per cylinder and hydraulic compensators, eliminating the need to adjust clearances, the cooling is liquid.
