Indian Chieftain description

2015 Chieftain, Indian Red & Thunder Black, near-new condition, low mileage, under Warranty (Sept, 2020), and has all the good add-ons:
* Stage 1 ECM reflash
* Indian Thunderstroke hi-flow air cleaner
* Vance & Hines turn-down slip-ons - great sound
* Indian Flare/Flip windshield - power-adjustable on the go
* Indian Rider Backrest and mounting bracket
* Indian Tall Passenger Backrest and pad - quick-detachable
* Indian Pinnacle collection (red): covers for primary, cam, and horn
* Indian Chrome Seat Bolt Cover
* Kuryakn Iso Highway Pegs

Had three of the factory chrome pieces custom-painted to make it unique and cut down on glare from the sun - they are the gas tank console piece (red, black, and gold), the front fairing headlight piece (black), and the speedo/tach trim ring piece (red).

Also have the stock windshield, toolkit, Owner's Manual, free & clear AZ title. Recalls have been done by Indian of Chandler, and they also replaced the rear pulley and cush bearing to eliminate the fairly common noise these bikes tend to have.

Current mileage is 4,250, and won't be due for service until around 6700 miles, as it was serviced when I bought it this past April with 1700 miles on it. Tires very good; absolutely no issues at all.

If you don't want/need the new 2017 model Ride Command nav feature, this is the same bike and will save you a good $12K or so for a new one equipped like this one is.  Got a spinal surgery scheduled in December, don't want to leave it sitting in the garage for 6 months.

Actual Motorcycle or My Little Pony Character?

Thu, 29 Nov 2012

1 of 6Next Last A little while ago, we published a review of a motorcycle Honda produces for the Indian market called the Unicorn Dazzler. Yes, that’s the actual name of a production motorcycle designed by Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, a Honda subsidiary. In his review of the 150cc motorcycle, Rajeev Gaikwad said the Honda Unicorn Dazzler was “a handsome commuter with an enthusiastic and proven engine” though it was underwhelming in terms of performance and handling as the higher-priced successor to the regular Honda Unicorn also sold in India.

Hero Moto Unveils Leap Hybrid Scooter Concept, Claims 235 MPG

Fri, 06 Jan 2012

Indian manufacturer and former Honda partner Hero MotoCorp has unveiled a new hybrid scooter prototype at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Hero Leap runs on a series hybrid powertrain with the battery-powered electric motor providing most of the power and the gasoline engine acting as a range extender, charging the battery and supplying power when the battery runs low. Hero claims fuel economy of up to 100 km/l, which translates to an eye-popping 235 mpg.
