1948 Indian one owner, original paint, matching numbers. Comes with original bill of sale starts & runs well for its age. 1st place at Oley 2015 survivor meet, bike is well known in New Bedford MA where it spent most of its years. bike has been started & ridden minimum of once a year every year. tires & exhaust changed years ago. I changed out front & rear lenses, silent kicker, side stand & ignition coil mostly for safety. any & all paper work & old parts go with sale. Bike bought new with solo seat, dealer installed Buddy seat & saddle bags. Polaris Reports Q3 2011 Results
Tue, 18 Oct 2011Polaris Industries announced another record quarter with sales growth across all its product lines including on-road vehicle sales which consist mainly of Victory Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycles. The Medinia, Minn., company reported $67.6 million in net income for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011, a 43% increase from the $47.2 million reported in the same quarter of 2010.

Mon, 10 Dec 2012Polaris Industries offered the first preview of the next generation of Indian Motorcycle, releasing an audio clip of the new engine that will power an all-new model. Indian is offering a a line of 2013 Chief models but all of them are continuations of models offered by Indian’s owners. The new Polaris-era Indians are still a year away, but Polaris decided to start promoting the brand and teasing the new models ahead of a 2014 re-launch.
Indian recalls 'rebel' motorcycles
Thu, 19 Apr 20183,341 bikes fell under the service action. The New World has announced a recall of Indians released from October 25, 2016 to November 17, 2017. The problem is that the switch is corroded, which can cause the engine to start unintentionally if the key fob is close to the motorcycle.
