1946 Indian Chief CLASSIC, 1946 Indian Chief Motorcycle Model 346 with matching numbers Has won: 2 Best of Show 1 Peoples' Choice 7 First in Class and was published on the cover of Thunder Roads Magazine with a 2 page write up. -Hand polished heads, cases, inner & outer primaries & transmission. -Set up as original factory left hand throttle, foot clutch & hand shift 3 speed. -Motor & transmission has all new bearings and .20 oversize pistons. -All original cylinders, cases, heads & transmission. -Original hand sanded and powder coated plunger frame with new springs. - Girder front forks hand sanded and powder coated with new springs & shock. -All rebuilt and polished model 344 Linkert carb. -Rebuilt original generator, still 6 volts. Runs excellent and is a "ride everyday" bike that is very reliable and dependable. Not an item to "buy" but an "investment" to be made considering it will only increase in value. US Highland Making a Comeback
Thu, 13 Oct 2011US Highland appears to be making a comeback, announcing plans to begin processing new orders and having discussions with several OEMs for the use of the Oklahoma company’s powertrains. The Tulsa-based company did not mention which OEMs it is working with, though US Highland says the discussions could result in sales of over 20,000 units per year. The company is developing fuel injected V-Twin engines in 750cc, 950cc and 1050cc displacements and Singles in 350cc, 450cc and 507cc displacements.
Polaris Reports Q4 2013 Sales Results – Motorcycle Sales Up 94%!
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Polaris Industries a record fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2013, with sales revenue of $1.08 billion and a net income of $108.7 million. While off-road vehicles represent the bulk of Polaris’ business, its motorcycle operations saw a 94% increase in fourth quarter sales, thanks to strong demand for Victory Motorcycles and the addition of new Indian Motorcycles models.
Hybrid Motorcycle Gets 282 MPG
Mon, 21 Dec 2009The ET-120 is the hybrid version of the Strike EV that was released earlier by Eko Vehicles based in Bangalore, India and claims to be the first hybrid motorcycle in the world. The new hybrid bike will feature a 70cc gas engine and electric motor that will get 120 km/l or about 282 mpg in hybrid mode, has a top speed of 40 mph but the power and torque will be equivalent to a 120cc engine.
