2003 Indian Chief Roadmaster, . - Today, the 2003 Indian Chief motorcycles are built upon proud heritage with four models that are bold in appearance with authentic styling details and confident in performance with its robust chassis design and muscular Powerplus 100 engine. For 2003, the flagship Indian Chief line comes with the Powerplus engine, the largest displacement engine designed and built by an American OEM motorcycle company. A key feature of the Chief line is its unmistakable, full-body profile and sculpted, full-valence fenders. For 2003 the airbox cover is now painted with an inlayed Indian logo. Completing this package is added detail to the instrument bezel for a more sophisticated look. The Indian Chief Roadmaster features a fringed dual seat, whitewall tires, chrome billet rear footpegs, fender graphics and saddlebags emblazoned with the Roadmaster logo. For long-distance comfort, the Chief Roadmaster features an integrated windshield and a chrome passenger backrest. The Roadmaster is offered in three monotone colors and six two-tone color combinations. Key Refinements for 2003 Include: Swept-back handlebar design adds comfort. The rebirth of the Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company continues with the unveiling of the first new custom model under Polaris Industries ownership at the New York City International Motorcycle Show. Dubbed the Indian Big Chief Custom, the one-off special is a showcase for the brand’s Genuine Indian Accessories, offering a glimpse of the possibilities for customization. The Indian Big Chief Custom was created by a crew led by the head of Polaris’s Industrial Design team Greg Brew from a 2014 Chief Classic.

Polaris Acquires French Quadricycle-maker Aixam Mega

Polaris has added another brand to its growing list of acquisitions, buying out Aixam Mega S.A.S., a French manufacturer of light-duty commercial vehicles and quadricycles – small four-wheeled enclosed vehicles that can be driven, in some markets, without an automobile driver’s license. Aixam Mega joins Polaris’ portfolio which already includes Victory Motorcycles, Indian Motorcycles, electric vehicle makers Global Electric Motorcars and Groupil. Like GEM and Groupil, Axiam Mega produces small vehicles, though its products include both electric and diesel-powered vehicles.
