Indian All description

Condition:

This is an old bike being 70 years old and a chopper built 40 years ago. So it could really use some TLC. The bike runs okay, but the mag is getting weak and the clutch is sticky. For how the bike looks it does show its age, the tire tread is low, the fuel tank shows scuffs and minor scratches, the chrome is in fairly good condition just minor imperfections, the paint on the frame of the bike has minor imperfections as well, the seat is in fairly good condition, the exhaust pipes show discoloration from the heat of the exhaust and the chain is discolored from use. I suggest rebuilding the Mag and cleaning the clutch plates. This is a nice bike but it is also an old bike so don’t expect to fly down the road at 80 MPH all day long it’s just not realistic. Feel free to ask any questions or come see the bike, I am honest and will tell the truth. I put 100,000 miles in the mileage description when in fact the mileage is not known because the bike does not have a speedometer.

History:

This bike was originally covered in “Easyriders” July of 1980 and “Best of In The Wind” published Winter of 1982. (See attached magazine picture) I will supply the magazines with the pink slip to the buyer. I thought I would never sell this bike, but I am currently building a 1927 Excelsior Super X racer and it is getting very expensive. I rode this bike sometime last year but the mag was getting weak and the clutch was somewhat sticky so I just parked it. The title is clean and in my name. (Registered as a 1946) This is a great old bike, super cool and is a big part of chopper history built in the 70’s and never modified.

Shipping and Payment:

You can ship the bike anywhere you want, you will just have to pay the shipping. I am available to help load the bike and storing the bike here is no problem if it takes some time to figure it out. I will need a $1,000 non-refundable deposit 48 hours after the auction ends. Paypal is fine as it makes it easier for everyone. Final payment must be received in cash or check and cleared in my bank before I let this beauty roll out the door. I will be starting the bidding at $14,000 as that is my minimum. I hope the bidding goes higher but we will see. I will not do trades or screwy deals. If you want the bike just pay me and send a shipper over here and we will load it. Keep it simple and all will be good. As with any used bike sale, the bike is “as is” “where it is”. You are welcome to come check it out personally before you bid if you want. Feel free to ask questions I am honest and will tell the truth.

Good luck bidding!

WE GAVE you the heads up last month on Mahindra Motorcycles' plans to enter the lucrative Indian motorcycle market - and here's a teaser video showing one of the company's machines on track in Italy. The Indian company will offer a variety of motorcycles, ranging from low-cost entry models to premium two-wheelers, said Anoop Mathur, the head of Mahindra’s motorcycle wing. The company is already an established scooter, 4x4 and tractor manufacturer.Despite their optimism, Mahindra is aware the company is moving into a competitve market, dominated primarily by Honda.

Indian introduces new PowerPlus engine

Wed, 20 Nov 2019

The apparatus with a 60-degree camber of the cylinder block can hardly be called the “little brother” of the 1811cc Thunder Stroke 111 engine - its capacity is 1769cc, but in terms of design solutions, the motors are fundamentally different. Let's start with the fact that, according to the manufacturer, the new engine is the most powerful in its class - it develops 121hp at 5500rpm and 178 Nm at 3800 rpm. PowerPlus, like the Scout motor, has an overhead camshaft, is equipped with four valves per cylinder and hydraulic compensators, eliminating the need to adjust clearances, the cooling is liquid.
