Husqvarna WR250 description

I am the second owner of this bike. When I bought it from the original owner in 1986, it had just a few hours on it. I have a clear title & owners manual. This bike was ridden a few times a year until 1997. The drum brake was not very good, so I fitted later model forks & front wheel with the disc setup. I do not have the original parts anymore. In about 1998 I took this bike apart & painted the frame & gas tank. The frame color is correct, a low gloss silver metallic. I own a body shop & went to great lengths to match the original finish. I used Spies Hecker acrylic urethane base coat 4:1 with hardener. The gas tank color was matched as well. I only put base coat where it was needed to cover scratches on the tank. The original "Made in Sweden" decal was cleared over. The chain is an O  ring & the tires are new. The seat is original. The plastics are used for sure. Scratches & a chunk missing from the rear fender. I never raced this bike but it did take me over the continental divide a few time in Colorado back in the day. I have the original Speedometer and a box full of misc spares, including a skid plate.  Bike has not been run in some time, but it will. It would please me to start it for you for the first time in years. It is a wonderful motorcycle. I love this bike & you are going to have to love it as well. I'm not giving it away!

Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.

BMW and Husqvarna to Unveil Concept Models at Frankfurt Auto Show

Fri, 02 Sep 2011

BMW will unveil an electric scooter concept model and an entry level Husqvarna streetbike concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The BMW concept, shown in the teaser sketch above, will likely be a version of the E-Scooter electric maxiscooter concept announced in July. BMW claimed the E-Scooter’s liquid-cooled electric motor offers performance similar to a 600cc combustion engine, while the battery casing itself will form the body of the frame.

Swedish solutions

ONE question - where can we get one? The video shows Swedish army issue Husqvarna 258's (1981) fitted with 'ski-stabilisers'. The riders put their feet on the skis and slide in confidently, despite the snow and ice. Apparently these are pretty common in the Swedish military which is as good a reason as I've ever heard to do your service for King Gustaf. Check out how he opens it up at about 45 seconds in...
