Husqvarna TE250 tech info
Husqvarna TE250 description
This bike is from the era when then BMW-owned Husqvarna started producing kick-ass dirt bikes again. It has fuel injection and a radiator fan, innovative features back then. The battery and air filter are right under the seat, and no tool needed to access. It's completely stock with the only mods being the addition of Enduro Engineering bark busters, and a lithium battery that replaced the old lead acid one. The fuel pump has also been replaced. It's been power-upped, and has two ride modes. It has an e-starter as well as a kickstarter if you're so inclined. And it's a very special and somewhat famous bike. It's from Husqvarna's 2011 demo fleet used in the Cycle World 40th anniversary On Any Sunday photo shoot with Malcolm Smith and Mert Lawwill. I have it on authority from someone at the old Italian Husky USA head office that it was indeed one of the bikes seen in the photos. The photo here shows Merl riding it, but Malcolm also had a turn on it. Those two legends must have sprinkled some of their pixie dust on this particular motorcycle for I fell off far less often than my intermediate skill level should dictate. It will need new tires, but it does include the original non-DOT tires Malcolm and Mert rode on if you want them. It also comes with a roll chart and a tail bag. The muffler has a spark arrestor. It's really tall with a claimed 37.4" seat height, just right for us tall guys. Oil changed ever 20 hours of riding, and the air filter was cleaned annually (like I said, I didn't ride much). It has almost 2200 miles on the odometer. Cosmetic damage from the "few" times I collected soil samples, and all the turn signals stalks have tape on them. It runs great! It just needs a more experienced rider to wring out its full potential. |

Danny Kent’s 2014 Moto3 Husqvarna
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Following the announcement in November last year that Husqvarna will field Britain’s Danny Kent and Finnish rider Niklas Ajo in a Red Bull-backed Moto3 effort comes the first photos of the bike in its racing livery. Kent had previously raced Moto3 for KTM and team manager, Aki Ajo, winning races at Valencia and Motegi in 2012. Niklas Ajo will be racing his third season in Moto3 next year, after finishing 19th overall in 2012 and 14th in 2013. According to Husky’s Facebook page the team is busy setting up the Moto3 bikes for the upcoming season.
Husqvarna Teases New Prototype for EICMA
Thu, 31 Oct 2013Husqvarna has a history of unveiling surprising new concepts at EICMA, but now that the company is under the auspices of KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer, we weren’t sure if that tradition would continue for the upcoming show in Milan. It appears we had nothing to fear, as Husqvarna announced it would unveil a new prototype at EICMA that will “offer a visual incite into the future evolution of the brand”. We’re pretty sure Husky meant “insight” there, but we’ll forgive the Swedish brand if the prototype is as impressive as advertised.
2015 Husqvarna FS 450 Supermoto Announced
Thu, 04 Sep 2014One result of KTM‘s acquisition of Husqvarna is the crossover of models, with KTM motorcycles swapping orange for Swedish blue and yellow. That is, more or less, what happened with Husaberg, so it’s no surprise to see that continue with Husky. Another side-effect is we get to see more from KTM’s awesome photography department, as exemplified here with the press photos of the new 2015 Husqvarna FS 450 supermoto.
