+++EXCELLENT APPEARANCE AND MECHANICAL, SHINY PAINT AND CLEAR COAT, NEW STATOR, ++CB RADIO+++ GOOD TIRES, EVERYTHING IMPORTANT WORKS.+++

+++SOME BIKES ARE JUST +++++RIGHT! ++++THIS IS ONE OF THOSE. ALWAYS GARAGED WHEN NOT RIDDEN, HAD EXCELLENT CARE,  AND IT SHOWS.+++

+++ JUST RODE IT 900 ISSUE-FREE MILES THIS WEEK, GOT COMPLIMENTS EVERYWHERE I WENT, AND NO ONE BELIEVED IT WAS 30 YEARS OLD. +++

+++PREVIOUS OWNER FOR 16 YEARS IS A FIREFIGHTER AND WE ALL KNOW HOW WELL THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR EQUIPMENT. ALL IS DID TO IT WAS A QUICK "SPIFF" TO GET THE BUGS OFF FROM MY WEEK LONG TRIP. +++

THE GL1200 IS QUITE A BIT LIGHTER THAN THE GL1500, LOWER SEAT HEIGHT, AND EASIER TO HANDLE. 

+++THE PHOTOS TELL THE STORY. MANY MANY EXTRAS HAVE IT UPGRADED ALMOST TO AN ASPENCADE.+++ 

+++GOLDWINGS HAVE BEEN LEGENDARY FOR DEPENDABILITY AND RELIABILITY SINCE DAY ONE. MANY GL1200'S ARE STILL GOING STRONG WITH 200K K PLUS MILES. HAVE HEARD OF SEVERAL WITH MORE ON ORIGINAL ENGINE. +++

+++THE MAIN ISSUE THE 1200'S HAVE IS THE STATOR. IT'S NOT "IF", IT'S "WHEN" AND THAT JOB COSTS OVER $1000 NOW. DON'T BUY A 1200  IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE STATOR STATUS1!!!! +++

+++ THIS ONE JUST HAD A NEW STATOR PUT IN A LITTLE OVER 1000 MILES AGO AND THE REPLACEMENTS ARE BETTER THAN THE ORIGINALS.+++ 

GOLDWINGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WATER COOLED, HORIZONTAL OPPOSED ENGINES, AND SHAFT DRIVEN FOR A SMOOTHER RIDE. THE GL1200 IS THE 3RD GENERATION GOLDWING AND WAS RE-DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP. 

THE ASPENCADE WAS THE TOP-OF-THE LINE 1200 BUT THIS INTERSTATE HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH ASPENCADE ITEMS INCLUDING:

+++HONDALINE AM/FM/CASSETTE RADIO WITH INTEGRATED INTERCOM SYSTEM+++

+++SIDE ZIPPERED POUCHES ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUNK+++

+++REAR SPEAKERS ADDED+++

ALSO HAS THE FOLD-DOWN ADJUSTABLE DRIVER BACKREST, CHROME PASSENGER FLOORBOARDS, MARKLAND HIGHWAY BOARDS, "POOR MAN'S" CRUISE CONTROL (THROTTLE LOCK) AFTERMARKET TINTED WINDSHIELD, AND MORE CHROME AND LIGHTS THAN I WILL TRY TO IDENTIFY. 

ALSO HAS THE FULL CHROME FRONT TREATMENT (GARNISH, TURN SIGNAL GRILLS, VENT GRILLS, ETC) 

+++MANY MANY ADDED CHROME RAILS, LIGHT GRILLS, LIGHT BARS, ETC, PER PHOTOS +++

RECENT MAINTENANCE INCLUDES OIL CHANGE, FORK SEALS, FUEL FILTER CHANGE, BRAKE PADS BOTH REAR AND FRONT, AND , OF COURSE, THE STATOR REPLACEMENT. 

REAR TIRE IS ABOUT 75%. FRONT IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 30 AND 40% SO GOOD TO GO FOR A LONG TIME. 

+++A FEW MINOR SCRATCHES BUT NOTHING TO DETRACT FROM THE OVERALL OUTSTANDING APPEARANCE. TAPE PLAYER INOP, TRUNK LIGHTS AND FRONT FENDER LIGHTS NOT HOOKED UP, OTHERWISE, EVERYTHING WORKS.

Bradl's Red Bull Honda for Indy

At the Indianapolis MotoGP Stefan Bradl's LCR Honda will be sporting this one-off Red Bull livery. The MotoGP rookie has been impressive so far in his debut year with a fantastic riding style. So hopefully he'll continue his run of form and encourage the energy drink giant to stay on board, as the colours look smart on the Honda RC213V.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
