What a beauty!

This 1972 Honda CL175 Scrambler, all original , in solid running condition with clean title is up for grabs!

Please watch the walk thru video for a very detailed representation of this motorcycles condition.

Below is a complete rundown! If you have any questions, need more pictures,  want to test ride it, etc, please don't hesitate to ask!

  • Brakes - Front brake is a little tight, but works well. Back brake works as it should.
  • Tires - Good tread, but they have some dry rotting happening in the sidewalls. Rideable as is, would personally put new ones on.
  • Lights/Horn - All signals, brake light, head light , high beam , horn and instrument lights work as they should. The signals do have some surface rust present on the posts.
  • Wheels - Wheels are nice and straight. Some very light pitting is present, but overall very nice.
  • Clutch - Nice and tight, no grinding, shifts smooth.
  • Seat - Original seat in pretty good condition. It has a small tear near the tank as can be seen in pics and videos. There is also some stitching that was redone on one of the seams. The leather is nice pliable still, foam is still soft.
  • Tank - Nice original paint in good shape. Has a couple of very small dings and nicks, but very solid. Inside has very very little rust.
  • Handlebars - Bars are straight, left grip and controls are nice. Right controls are nice as well, but the right grip is pretty chewed up on the end. Could use a new right side grip.
  • Cables - Cables have some cracking on the cable housing, but all are in pretty good condition with no fraying or breaking.
  • Stands - Side stand and center stand both present and function as they should.
  • Mufflers - Original mufflers. Heat shields are really nice still. They do some very very light pitting as seen in pictures (if you can see it?). The headers do have a decent amount of rust on them. They are probably the part of the bike as far as condition is concerned. Most of it will clean up, but if you check the pics and video, you can see there is a good amount there. The muffler does have a small hole in the bottom side, also shown in the pics and video.

  • Kickstart - The kick start lever gear is stripped. The lever moves up and down freely. The bike does have electric start if its something that you dont want to fix. Electric start works great with no issues.

Overall condition -  As mentioned, this bike does have some flaws. I've done my best to describe it as accurately as possible. It is however one of the nicer CL's that I have seen. I have taken detailed pictures and video in order to give you a true, accurate description of this bike's condition. It is a nice runner, and will run down the road nicely as it sits now.

SHIPPING - Shipping is solely upon the buyer. I am located within 30 minutes of most major freeways in the area. I will do my best to work with you, or a shipping company that you hire, but all costs, liability etc is completely the buyers responsibility. International buyers are welcome, but again, shipping is your responsibility. I can not crate this motorcycle. Local pick up is available. Local delivery is also an option, contact me before bidding.

PAYMENT - A $300 Deposit is due within 24 hours of closing. Remainder of payment is due within 7 Days. The bike will not be released until all funds have cleared.

New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 – Motorcycle Manufacturers Draw Battle Lines for World’s Second Largest Market

Mon, 09 Jan 2012

In past years, the biennial Auto Expo in India slipped under the radar while the industry was focused more on shows such as EICMA in Italy and Intermot in Germany. But with India’s middle class starting to flex its financial muscle while other markets continue to struggle, the New Delhi show is becoming much more prominent, with major OEMs positioning themselves to claim a piece of the India’s 13 million vehicles-a-year market. We’ve already looked at India-produced Royal Enfield’s new Thunderbird 500 and Hero Moto’s hybrid scooter concept which debuted at the Auto Expo, and today we’ll look at what the major international OEMs presented.

How to solve the mystery of the wildcard replacement

Wed, 30 Jun 2010

With the two test riders coming forward to act as replacement riders for the injured Rossi and Aoyama, it brought back memories of the days when the grid would be gifted with wildcard riders from the respective countries. The Japanese rounds were always attended by some of the top guys with experience of the 500GP and MotoGP bikes, through racing them in their domestic championships. What resulted was getting to witness the exciting and talented Japanese riders, and bring new riders to the attention of the teams.
