Honda CBX description

1981 Honda CBX1000 SuperSport

Selling my extremely clean and reliable daily rider 1981 Honda CBX1000 SuperSport 6 cylinder motorcycle.  Less than 29,000 miles on the bike, though I ride it daily.  Bike is an excellent rider, completely mechanically solid and needs nothing to be ridden reliably daily.  Also an excellent candidate for a full restoration since it's already in very nice shape.

The 6 cylinder air cooled CBX motor in this 1981 model has less than 29,000 original miles. Recent full service with all fluids, plugs, carb clean and sync, good clutch, etc.  Has a DG full 6 into 1 chrome exhaust system installed, and sounds absolutely amazing.  Front and rear brakes just rebuilt and fluid flushed.  All gauges and electrical work perfectly.  Seat cover is in perfect shape, looks like new. Good fairly new tires and brake pads (rear single disc, from dual discs).

Bike has original paint scheme in silver with black/red stripe accents.  Tank has been repainted once with original colors.  The paint on the cowl behind the rear seat is faded some, mostly from the clear coat thinning.  CBX graphics in excellent shape, same with Honda wing logos on tank.  The right side cover has a broken mounting tab, though is secure. Bike comes with a replacement right side cover in the White/Blue paint scheme, in great shape but will need to be painted to match bike.

I have the original front fairing, with original paint/graphics, though it is missing the windscreen.  I also have original matching painted hard luggage and mounting brackets and all original turn signals. I have some other various spare parts. Everything is included in the sale. I will most likely have mounted the brackets and luggage before sale, though not the front fairing.

I 100% guarantee you will not be disappointed in this bike and will have a blast the first time you take it for a spin!

Bike is located in Fort Collins, Colorado 80526.  It has a clear Colorado street title, ready to transfer to you. You can pick up locally, or I'm happy to ship the bike anywhere in the world, though buyer handles all shipping arrangements and payments.  I can recommend a motorcycle shipping company I've used many times that is very reasonably priced and extremely reliable.  You're welcome to come see the bike in person.

I'm happy to take as many close up or specific pictures as you want. I'm also happy to talk to you on the phone and answer any questions you may have. Please send me any and all questions through ebay messaging, including your phone number if you want me to call you back.

Check out my ebay history and feedback, I have sold many high quality motorcycles on ebay with perfect feedback.  I'm honest and accurately represent the bikes I sell.  I start all my motorcycle auctions at $0.99 with no reserve, and let the quality of the motorcycle speak for itself to sell for a fair price for you and me. I do NOT accept PayPal any longer, since the fees are much too high. I require payment by personal check or cash up front. The check must clear in my bank account for a minimum of 3 business days before I will release the bike.  Payment must be made within with 3 business days of the sale of the bike (unless we talk first and work something else out), or please do not bid.

Good luck! Don't miss out on this rare classic!

The Motoped: What Happens When A Mountain Bike And Pit Bike Mate – Video

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

The picture above is not photoshopped. What you’re looking at is called a Motoped. Technically a motorized bicycle, the Motoped uses a custom made frame and swingarm and bolts to a Honda XR50 (or Chinese knockoff) engine.

Ben Bostrom And M1 Form Cycling Event Promotion Company

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Long-time AMA rider and champion Ben Bostrom is known for his athletic endurance and stamina. A quality he attributes to the work he does training on his bicycle or on a run. And now that B-Boz is without a full-time motorcycle ride this year, he’s focusing his attention to other forms of two wheels.

Schoolboy Heroes

A wet and grey day in Calais in 1992 wouldn’t be the obvious situation for a life changing experience, but for a 11 year old lad on a boring booze cruise from Dover this is exactly what happened. Pockets bulging with funny money I headed to the Tabac for the obligatory bangers, dirty playing cards and some sweets.  Then it happened, I stood in front of the magazine rack and reached up, as if drawn by an external force.  At the time I wasn’t tall enough for Playboy or L’ Escort so settled for a copy of Moto Verte, the French motocross mag.  Life would never be the same again. Inside there was a double page spread, with a fresh faced Jeremy McGrath resting a leg over his #15 Honda CR125.  Sporting a pair of fluro MX trousers with a, now retro, bright white surname emblazoned jersey, and casting an eye over a seriously vast motocross park.  I stared at this Sinisalo advert all the way home, partly because all the articles were in foreign, but also because I was transfixed.  What and how do I become a motocross champion?
