1 owner 1978 Honda CB550 K. It looks great in the pictures, but it actually looks better in person.

It was bought new in 1978, ridden for 6 or 7 summers, put away in a garage in the winter sometime in the 80's and brought back to life just a few weeks ago.

Paint on the gas tank, side covers, and headlight is original and it's in amazing condition, however the gas tank flap was repainted black because the original paint had peeled. The chrome is beautiful and rust free.

Here is a summary of what was recently done:

-Front end was taken apart and we cleaned out all the old dried up grease and installed new tapered steering roller bearings (huge upgrade over the antiquated ball bearings)
-The f
ront forks = were also disassembled, thoroughly cleaned out, old fork seals removed and replaced, and refilled with new fork oil (see picture)
-New handlebars installed
-New clutch lever
-New Motion Pro throttle, clutch and choke cables
-Carburetors were ultra-sonic cleaned and rebuilt (see picture)
-New Exide battery
-New WPS 530 heavy duty roller drive chain
-New petcock, fuel lines and fuel filter
-New NGK D7EA spark plugs, NGK plug boots
-Oil and oil filter were changed
-New starter solenoid
-Brand new Shinko 712 series tired and tubes
-New counter-sprocket oil seal and shift shaft oil seal. No oil leaks!!
-Ignition timing and engine valve clearances were inspected and adjusted to correct factory spec so the bike starts up very easily even when cold
-The old front brake system was too corroded internally so we installed a new master cylinder and a new reproduction aluminum front brake caliper and brake piston, filled it with fresh dot3 brake fluid, bled out all the air and adjusted it. Works great with no dragging!
-The seat is the original seat from 1978 with no rips or tears and the foam is still soft
-Original chrome wheels and spokes were cleaned up and look almost new. Hard to believe they're 40 years old.
-High / low beam, brake / running light, horn and starter button all work
-Fires right up, runs, rides and idles just as it should. Needs no work at all at this point.

And a few models such as Honda’s NC700S and X, Kawasaki’s Versys 1000 and CRP’s Energica were unveiled without heavy prior fanfare, but gasps of surprise weren’t heard when the wraps were taken off Triumph’s Tiger 1200 Explorer, Husqvarna’s Nuda or MV Augusta’s F3 675 among others, whose existences were revealed months in advance of the show. What we’ve comprised below is our list Top 10 Bikes unveiled at EICMA that didn’t receive top billing but are certainly worthy of your attention.
