Honda CB description

Original and unrestored 1972 Honda CB175 with 2600 miles. I bought the bike three years ago, did a basic tune up and rebuilt the carburetors. Since then, I rode it for a little bit around town and put around 300 miles. I do not use it much, so I am selling it. The bike is quite presentable and looks nice. I have kept it original and, since my ownership, there have not been any modifications. Most of the work done to the bike is cosmetic, polishing the fenders, cleaning up parts and repainting others. There are a couple of dents on the gas tank and a few scratches on the air filter covers, but nothing major that requires immediate attention. This is a 44 year old bike, a true classic that would benefit from some care and attention. There are no warranties and the bike is sold ‘as-is’. Please, ask any questions before bidding. Sensible offers will be considered. More pictures can be sent upon request. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I can assist the shipper of your choice $500 deposit upon purchase of bike. Final payment either via Paypal or personal check. Clear NC title. Owner's manual and tools included *If you need more pictures or want to see a video of the bike running, please let me know Replaced -air filters -turn signal lenses -clutch cable -turn signal/horn switch assembly -taillight lens Repainted -taillight mounting bracket -chain guard -tool box Rebuilt -carburetors -petcock Known issues Mufflers have been patched but they work fine. Bike is sometimes hard to start especially when battery is low. Kill off switch does not work (it was like that when I bought the bike). It leaks a tiny bit of oil when sitting for too long. The turn signals are very slow.

Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Explained in NHTSA Documents

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Earlier this month, we published news about an issue with certain Nissin anti-lock brake system modulators that have been connected to recalls in Canada and Japan from Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, with the possibility of it expanding to further models and manufacturers using the same component. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has now released documents from American Honda’s recall of ABS-equipped CTX700 and CTX700N that shed some more light into the issue. According to the documentation, a manufacturing error may have resulted in Nissin ABS modulators being contaminated with aluminum chips.

Day 7 Dakar 2014: Barreda Wins Another

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

After a day of rest, Sunday’s stage seven was characterized by rain during the night and a new Dakar country – Bolivia. After an early start at 4:30 in the morning, the first 62 miles of the special stage into Bolivia had to be shortened due to rain and poor visibility, low-hanging clouds that prevented the helicopters from taking off creating security issues. The route led across the Andes and towards the Bolivian border.
