Honda CB description

1972 Honda CB 750 Four

Up for sale is my 1972 Honda CB 750. This motorcycle is very clean and well maintained, proving to be an extremely reliable motorcycle during the last ten years. It even has the original owners manual under the seat!

On numerous occasions I have ridden this machine out of state for weekend trips, having nothing but fun. At just over 17,600 miles, this motorcycle has not yet entered the prime of its life.

The paint scheme is the desirable Sunrise Flake Orange, and is in excellent condition considering its age, showing very minor scratches and blemishes.

The tires were installed shortly after I purchased this bike and have a great deal of tread; approximately 75% of tread remaining. It should also be noted that there is no rust to be found on the spokes or the rims. It should also be noted that the battery is about two years old and has been regularly maintained with a Battery Tender.

This motorcycle starts easily and quickly on cold mornings. Just engage the choke and push the starter button; the bike will fire nearly effortlessly. This motorcycle is currently being ridden on a regular basis and is always a great conversation starter. Its true- you do meet the nicest people on a Honda!

I will also be listing this bike locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early, provided the reserve has not been met.

This motorcycle is being sold “as is” with no warranty.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. I will make myself available for local pickup as well.

Thanks for looking and good luck!

Traction control? Yawn...

My long-term Fireblade went back to Honda last week and, seeing as it’s sunny and mild outside now, I’m already missing it. It is one of the best 1000cc sports bikes out there, I don’t care what anyone else says, the way it makes its power is just perfect for fast road use. With the Power Commander 5 fitted and the fuelling sorted my 2011 Blade performed as well if not better than the 2012 version.

Honda Reports Q1 2011-2012 Results

Tue, 02 Aug 2011

Honda reported a 88.3% year-on-year decrease in net profit over its first quarter ended June 30, 2011, thanks in large part to the March 11 earthquake and ensuing tsunamis in Japan. Honda reported a profit of 31.7 billion yen (US$411.1 million) over the quarter, a fraction of the 272.4 billion yen (US$3.53 billion) reported over the same quarter last year.  The decrease came mainly from a large dropoff in automobile sales. Net sales from the motorcycle division helped keep Honda in the black despite a drop in unit sales.

The name Matt Cuddy should need no introduction to Motorcycle.com readers. Not only does he have more than 5,000 posts on our forum, he’s also written dirt bike tests for us, including the 2010 and 2011 Kawasaki KX450F reviews. Making this accomplishment more noteworthy is the fact that Matt is a paraplegic – he was hit by a car several years ago while riding his motorcycle.
