Honda CB description

1967 CB450 Honda Super Sport
Black Bomber

Honda Black Bombers are rare and hard to find in this condition.  View all pictures to see the pride of ownership and attention to detail I've given this bike.

Frame number CB450-1015467       Engine number CB450E 1013294

I have a current title in my name!  It has an Oklahoma tag for 2016.

This Honda was first sold by dealer in 1967.  Previous owner had owned it since July, 1975.  I have owned it six years.

This bike is in excellent condition, the engine runs quite.  The engine has a complete tune-up with valve adjustment, new points, condenser, spark plugs and ignition timing was set.  The carbuertors were disassembled, cleaned and new gaskets installed.  There are no oil leaks in the engine or transmission.  The transmission shifts smooth through all four gears.

When I purchased this bike I replaced the following parts:  correct cables, ignition switch with matching fork lock, points and condenser, spark plugs, front and rear tires, rear brake shoes, front wheel spokes, Honda CB450 tank badges and new gas cap.  The front tire is 3.25 x 18, straight rib tread pattern made in Japan.  The rear tire is a Dunlop Gold Seal 3.50 x 18 K70 tread pattern made in Japan.  These are the correct size and style for this bike.  Also, I repainted the fenders, side covers and gas tank.  The paint is smooth and shiny.

All electrical components including the lights, horn and starter work as they should. The battery is weak so I use the kick starter to start it.  Speedometer and tachometer work as they should.

The gas tank is clean inside with no repairs.  All chrome is in good condition with no rust or pitting.  The mufflers are in good condition, each has a few dents which are shown in pictures.  The seat is the original, it should be recovered as the padding is hard and cover has several holes as shown.  The seat pan is in good condition with no cracks.  Seat hinges and latch are in good condition.

It's not perfect, but is in very nice condition for being almost fifty years old!  I enjoy taking it out for a ride from time to time on nice days.  I've provided many pictures and described the condition accurately.  If you need additional pictures or have any questions, please ask before bidding.  Only serious bidders please!

Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and cost or local pick-up.  A $200 deposit through paypal is required when auction ends with balance to be paid within seven days by certified cashier's check or USPS money order.  Bike will not be released to shipper or picked up until payment is cleared.  There is no warranty.  Sold without reserve.

International buyers are responsible for import duties and taxes.  Please check with your country's customs office to determine what this additional cost will be prior to bidding.  These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight company or when you pick up the bike.  I will not mark merchandise values below sale price or mark as gifts.  U.S. and international government regulations prohibit this.

CARB Certifies 2015 Honda NC700X – Still No 750 Engine in Sight

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

American consumers hoping Honda would replace its NC700X with the larger-displacement NC750X will be disappointed to know they might have to wait until the 2016 model year to get the 75cc engine upgrade. The California Air Resources Board has granted an executive for the 2015 Honda NC700X, certifying the motorcycle for sale in the state with the same 670cc engine displacement it had since being introduced in the 2012 model year. Now, this doesn’t mean Honda won’t decide to certify the 745cc engine after all; manufacturers resubmit and recertify models all the time, often replacing models are adding additional model using the same engine.

Pulling the pin ...

Mon, 15 Nov 2010

WARNING: Not for the squeamish. You're looking at surgeons removing a pin from Ten Kate Honda man Jonathan Rea's wrist. The World Superbike frontrunner underwent surgery after sustaining fractures during a fall in qualifying at Imola, which hampered the Irish racer's end of season performance.

The New Fastest Electric Motorcycle Lap, With John McGuinness + Video

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Earlier this week, John McGuinness won the single-lap TT Zero electric motorcycle race at the Isle of Man TT aboard his Mugen Shinden San. In the process, the 21-time TT winner smashed the old lap record of 109.675 mph, setting an average speed of 117.366 mph from a standing start. To put that in perspective, McGuinness’ teammate, Bruce Anstey, aboard a sister Mugen, set the outright lap record earlier this week aboard his Honda CBR1000RR superbike of over 132 mph.
