1963/64 Honda DREAM barn find (According to engine & frame #'s)
Really, it was in a barn. I purchased this along with another bike that has been sold since. Previous owner, was the original owner and did have the Ohio State Highway Patrol inspect it for a VIN# and assign/confirm the number on the frame. Please see pictures!! If you know DREAMS, this VIN# is in a tough place on the frame to see and the stamp in the metal can be very faint. The previous owner had this inspection done as a step to getting a re-issued title. Currently, NO TITLE available. So, the engine kicks over and the throttle turns and releases in normal fashion. Good signs. All pieces, with the exception, taillight lens and OE seat seem to be present. I am not a Honda Dream expert. My guess is its a 1963. The "Examiner.com" article from 5/6/2012 seems to help answer this question. SEE PHOTO FOR LINK ...but, again, the year is a guess on my part. If the mystery title, that the previous "attorney" owner was trying to secure, ever shows it face I will be happy to forward on to the new owner. DO NOT assume that the title is available...at the time of this auction, it is not. Who knows, it may show up. Anyway, this would be a decent donor/parts bike. Certainly there are useful pieces here. The "Sportster" seat is kind of funny. Oh, the stories these bike could tell. PAYMENT made in cash on pick-up. 50.00 deposit via paypal at auction end. Winning bidder is responsible for shipping and pickup. I certainly will work with the shipper to help load. No warranties implied or expressed...of course. |

Honda’s V-4 History
Tue, 06 Oct 2009As Honda prepares its new VFR1200 for its official unveiling, the red-wing company has set up a website detailing its long involvement in V-4 engines. It began back in 1979 with the introduction of the NR500 grand prix racebike. Rather than fielding a 500cc two-stroke engine, Honda used a four-stroke oval-piston V-4 motor – essentially a V-8 with four cylinders that could be revved to 19,500 rpm!
James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing
Fri, 09 Sep 2011Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.
