Silver and Chrome Only 1565 Miles (Always stored in a Garage) Launched in 2001, the Harley Davidson V-Rod marked a radical departure for the American firm, in terms of styling, design and performance. It is based around a 86kW (115bhp) Porsche engine derived from the firm's VR1000 race bike. The engine -Harley's first production liquid-cooled V-twin - is thoroughly modern, with twin camshafts and four valves for each cylinder, fed by a powerful fuel-injection system. But it is the chassis which most impresses - a new, innovative take on the cruiser concept which at once looks modern and classic. The sinuous steel-tube frame is formed by pressurized water, while the body panels are made of brushed aluminum, and a ducted shroud guides cooling air to the hidden radiator. Thu, 25 Jul 2013Harley-Davidson reported a net profit of $271.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, up from the profit of $247.3 million reported in the same period in 2012. For the first half of 2013, Harley-Davidson has recorded $495.9 million in profit, compared to $419.3 million reported in the opening six months last year. “Harley-Davidson again drove strong financial performance in the second quarter, reflecting the many improvements in operations we have made throughout the Company over the past few years as well as our brand strength globally,” says Keith Wandell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.

Starting Thursday, August 28 at 5:00 PM, the biggest bike night of the riding season kicks off the event-filled weekend. The holiday gathering will also include two custom bike shows, a women’s ride, displays of the 2015 Harley-Davidson Models, and the last chance to see the H-D Museum’s summer show entitled The American Road.
