Harley-Davidson Touring description

This 2010 CVO Street Glide is a tuned-up, tricked-out version of the popular Harley-Davidson hot-rod bagger. Powered by the Screamin’ Eagle Twin Cam 110, the CVO Street Glide packs serious power from the largest-displacement V-Twin engine offered from the factory by Harley-Davidson. This potent touring bike is also loaded with the sparkling chrome, electrifying paint and fresh custom-styling ideas that have defined the CVO program for more than a decade.

The CVO Street Glide presents a low-and-lean profile behind a fork-mounted “batwing” fairing, with an owner added 9" recurve smoked wind deflector, to increase the size of the rider/passenger "bubble" for touring. The bike comes with a stock solo headlamp, a clean front fender, and hard extended saddlebags with color-matched latches. The saddlebags have owner added top racks, with additional integral stop/tail/turn signal lighting.

The CVO Street Glide is built on the innovative Touring chassis introduced by Harley-Davidson in 2009, based on a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and a new swingarm developed to withstand the demands of long-haul touring riders and today’s more-powerful engines. The longer wheelbase makes for much more comfortable touring and better handling.

Key CVO Street Glide Features and associated owner enhancements

** Screamin’ Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine with 110-cid (1803cc), rubber-mounted to the frame, is rated at 115 ft. lbs. of torque at 3750 rpm. The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission features a new helical-cut fifth gear. This bike has the SE255  cam set and it has been "Dynotuned". The tuner comes with the bike, should the new owner wish to have the bike re-tuned. It is currently tuned for cooler running. Dyno graphs are delivered with the bike. Historical gas mileage is 44 -52 highway, and 36 - 38 in town, depending on gas quality and load.
** Extended saddlebags are a one-piece, injection-molded, full-depth design that offer increased capacity. Locking latches are color-matched. Harley Davidson soft luggage is inside the saddlebags. Chrome side case guards were also owner added. The owner has also added a color matched Tourpak, with upgraded HD chrome hinges.
** Color-matched rear fascia panel fills the space between each saddlebag and the rear fender, and incorporates LED stop/tail/turn lights.
** Black 18-inch front and rear “Agitator” wheels are a seven-spoke design with contrast-chrome highlights. New seven-spoke floating front brake rotors match the wheel.
** Hydraulic rear shocks have 40mm pistons and 14mm rods, with optimized rebound and damping to deliver outstanding response on a range of road surfaces. Suspension pre-load can be adjusted by hand to accommodate rider, passenger and luggage weight. The pre-load adjustment knob is located behind the left saddlebag.
** Trimmed front fender/bracket assembly showcases the front “Agitator” wheel.
** The stock seat has been replaced with a long distance KonTour touring seat, with an airflow covering to enhance comfort during warm weather riding. A rider backrest and pillion rider Tourpak mounted back/armrest have also been owner added.
** Rumble Collection grips, footboard inserts, shifter pegs, and brake pedal pads are standard. The owner has added premium pillion rider foot boards and three position adjustable foot pegs. Rider adjustable highway pegs have been owner added to the front engine guard.
** Standard equipment also includes ABS (anti-lock braking system), electronic cruise control, Harley-Davidson factory security system, and the 40-watt Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio System.
** Factory supplied heavy canvas CVO complete motorcycle cover in full length, with CVO logo in gold and white, with storage bag
** Gold plated Presentation CVO motorcycle key, and two remote wireless fobs with standard motorcycle keys attached.
** CVO custom paint scheme, with color-matched front fairing skirt, upper fork slider covers, and license plate light cover is: Spiced Rum with Gold Leaf Graphics.

Assembled by teams of technicians in a special assembly area at the Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations facility in York, Pa., production of the 2010 CVO Street Glide was limited to 3,448 units, or which only 1,652 were in the Spiced Rum paint scheme.

Additional owner enhancements are:

** Extended handlebars to improve riding position during touring, with added riser mounted, dual split-view mirrors for improved rear vision.
** Airwing TourPak top rack with integral lighting linked to the brake light.
** Tru-dual exhaust system by Harley Davidson
** Adjustable air deflectors on the Batwing fairing, mid-frame air deflectors, and fork air deflector for cooler warm weather riding, and improved airflow over the engine.
** "Boom" hidden AM/FM antenna that eliminated the external whip antenna
** PIAA high intensity halogen, engine guard mounted auxiliary lights, connected to the integrated panel mounted AUX switch (NOTE: These have saved me from deer and other large animal strikes, during night riding, in open country. They are aimed far ahead and to the road verges. The new owner can easily realign them for fog riding.

** Harley pillion seat speaker system
** Side stand gravel pad

The owner is a United States Marine, and had the Eagle Globe and Anchor Marine Corps symbol painted on the front fairing, and the rear of the TourPak. He will remove them, at no additional cost, if the new owner requests it to be done. It will take approximately one week to have the paint work done, if requested.

This bike has always had oil changes at 5,000 mile intervals, using SYN oil. The main drive belt was replaced at approx. 20,000 miles due to a rock chip hole. A new battery was installed at 52,000 miles. New front tire and new front wheel bearing set at 54,900 miles, rear tire replaced at approximately 52,000 miles. The bike has always been factory maintained, by certified Harley technicians. There is currently, a fully paid up, factory Extended Service Plan (ESP) on the bike that extends the original factory warranty until March 7, 2017. The ESP has a $50 deductible, per event but does cover all warrantable repairs. This ESP transfers with the sale.

Original manual, with data and installation sheets for most of the owner added items are included.

The owners reason for selling is that he is almost 70 years old and no longer enjoys motorcycle touring. This bike is too much for around town riding and its time to move on to other interests. The bike is in excellent condition and will give the new owner many thousands of miles of two-up touring. It is rigged for the road, and set-up for warm weather riding.

Most Obvious Press Release Of 2013: Biker Chicks Sexier Than Pedestrians

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

In a misallocation of funds Harley-Davidson recently spent an untold buttload of money proving something men have known for years: That women who ride motorcycles are sexier and better between the sheets than women who don’t ride. Common responses from male motorcyclists to the press release were: Duh; Tell me something I didn’t already know; Can I be a recruiter? Meant to entice non-riding females into the Harley-Davidson army by pimping the Bar & Shield’s website, www.h-d.com/women, the press release was peppered with effeminate catchphrases such as “physical intimacy, “communication,” and “improves relationships” but the basal message is one of female motorcyclists being sexier, happier and more confident than their non-riding counterparts.
