Harley-Davidson Touring description

2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide Motorcycle

I am the second owner of this bike.  I purchased it from the original owner in 2008. He had the stage II package done to it when he bought it.  I added Rinehart Mufflers, Wave Windshield, Mustang Seat, Mini Whip Antennas, Air Horns, LED Tail Light and upgraded the main headlight/spot lights.  It has Hog Tune speakers all the way around and the tour pack rack has been extended back 3".  The front cowling has adjustable air wings installed.  The bike has a new Michelin Commander II on the rear.  The front tire has about 50% wear on it.  The bike was originally black but I had it repainted in 2012 and the art work on the cowling done in 2013.  The art work on the cowling is an indian  with outstretched arms.  The clouds have wolves in them.  There is also lightning bolts on the bike. It has 59,000 miles on it.  Oils have been changed every 4000 miles. I use Mobile One 20w50 in the engine, Mobile Synthetic 75/90 in the gearbox with Trick Shift in the clutch/stator case.  The stator was replaced less than 150 miles ago.  The spring tensioners on cams were replaced and output shaft upgrades were done prior to a trip to Sturgis in 2014.  The cam tensioners were replaced with new NON Harley ones around 48-49,000 miles.  The shop I use has been installing them for over ten years and has seen over 100K miles on the newer style with them still being within limits.  I usually ride one up and I'm in my 60's so it has not been hot rod'd.  It doesn't leak or burn oil.  The battery is less than 1 year old.  The cruise control works.  The only thing that is not 100% factory spec. is that the CD player is not working.  I didn't know this until I was checking it out for the sale.  It may just be dusty inside.  The radio and the weather band work fine.  I used the aux. jack with my ipod instead of hauling around CD's.  It works fine too.

I will deliver within 300 miles of Waco, TX on a trailer for $1.50 a loaded mile (prepaid).  I can hold for Christmas but will require full payment.  A $500 deposit is due at the end of the auction.  Remainder must be paid within 7 days or at pick up.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
