Harley-Davidson Touring description

Vintage 1978 Harley Davidson Shovel head.  This Bike was taken down to the frame and all parts were removed and replaced or cleaned and adjusted. The engine was rebuilt. All work was done by a professional.  I have put less than a 1,000 miles since the work was completed.  The color of the bike is a striking red and black granite design gradually fading to total black.  The gas tanks are Fat Boy tanks, the wheels are Aluminum.  It is both electric and kick start.  The headlight was changed to LED, the bike was lowered 1 inch for a safer more comfortable ride.  The bike has a gel saddle, leather saddlebags, new HD low profile carburetor, new pipes and as many other improvements that I could think of.
When I turned 80 my doctor suggested getting rid of the motorcycle since it would be too dangerous for my condition.  When you pay for advice it is usually a good idea to take it.  This is great riding machine and is really comfortable ride.

Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India

Fri, 18 May 2012

India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q2 2014 Sales Results

Tue, 22 Jul 2014

Harley-Davidson reported a net income of $354.2 million over the second quarter of 2014, thanks to a 12.4% increase in sales revenue. Actual motorcycle sales volume stayed about even, however, with unit sales increasing to just 90,218 motorcycles from 90,193 sold in the same quarter last year. Though sales were statistically the same as they were last year, Harley-Davidson generated $1.48 billion in revenue from motorcycle sales alone, up 16.2% from the $1.27 billion reported in the second quarter of 2013.
