Harley-Davidson Touring description
This is an original, unrestored 1959 Duo Glide that I purchased from the daughter of the original owner. It is a beautiful, running, dependable motorcycle in its current state. Comes with original title and is also titled and registered in my name. I was told by the previous owner that the paint is original and I am very confident that this is true but I am not an original paint expert. Current title says the bike has 150,000 miles but I can't substantiate that. Motor has obviously been rebuilt at some point in its life and it's obvious that it was done right. It runs beautifully with no smoke or strange noises and transmission shifts perfectly. 6 volt electrical system. All #s are correct and matching. This is a bike that has been absolutely loved and cherished it's entire life. The new owner will be a very lucky person to have such a rare unmolested example.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PEASE ASK BEFORE YOU BID. PAYMENT IS DUE IN FULL WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! $500 PAYPAL DEPOSIT DUE IMMEDIATELY. ALL SHIPPING FEES AND ARRANGEMENTS ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. THIS MOTORCYCLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME. |

Want to Buy the Pope’s Harley?
Mon, 13 Jan 2014In February, Bohnams auction house in Paris will allow both the Catholic and the Harley faithful to bid on a Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide owned by none other than Pope Francis, himself. Given to the Pope last year as part of the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, the bike was unlikely to become the Popecycle because of the security required to protect the pontiff. The Pope donated the Dyna to the Roman Catholic charity Caritas Roma but not before signing the tank with “Francesco” at a special ceremony at the Vatican last November.
Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight and Roller Derby? [Video]
Thu, 10 Jun 2010Canadian publication Cycle Canada had some fun on a photoshoot for its review of the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight for the July issue. As Pete wrote in our own review, the Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight has a rugged, bobber-inspired look with its chopped fender, chubby front tire and underslung mirrors. For the guys over at Cycle Canada, the Forty-Eight conjured up a rather odd image: roller derby.
