Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This is a 1999 1200 Sportster (show bike)  that is unlike any other sportster you have ever seen.  Since I have owned this bike, the questions from onlookers have not stopped.  I cannot go into a gas station without people gawking at it and commenting on all the unique features that it has.  To start, the front end of this sportster is a Dyna Wide Glide conversion kit, so the forks are raked out further than your average sportster.  The rear wheel is a 200 size tire with a solid chrome rim.  The belt was changes to a chain which adds to the effect that you can see from the chrome rear wheel as it mirrors the chain and the spoke perfectly.  Most people assume there is no center to the wheel as it is so crystal clear it looks as if you are looking right through it.  Because the rear wheel is a 200, the rear end of the bike was widened and has a wider than normal fender.  The handle bars are drag bars which also add to the look along with a digital speedo and tac.  Everything on this bike that can be chrome is.....there is nothing else that can be chromed on it and it is beautiful.  Accept for two minor paint flaws which are very small...this bike is in mint condition.  I am asking 10,000 OBO.  Serious inquiries only.   I am attaching the sheets that go along with the bike so you can see what work has been done and understand the amount of money that has been put into it.  The bike without the added customizations is worth about 5-6K, and then the added customizations would bring it to approximately 14K.  I am looking to sell it fast which is why I am willing to let it go for this price.  Please feel free to ask any questions that you have and I will be glad to answer them.   You can contact me here on Ebay or by phone at 908-327-5755.   The miles listed (4300)  are original miles.

Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.

2012-2013 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special Recalled for Loose License Plate Bracket

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall on all Night Rod Special models from 2012 and some from 2013 because of a potentially loose license plate bracket. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounting screws connecting the VRSDCDX‘s license plate bracket to the tail may loosen, potentially causing the plate to rub against the rear tire. This may cause the plate bracket to rotate as well as damage rear brake lines.
