Harley-Davidson Softail description

2012 Harley-Davidson Softail DELUXE, 2012 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe. 10,500 easy miles Used 60 miles per day as a daily rider This is the fourth Harley Davidson I have had in as many years. I love this bike as I have the other three. What I love more is a new bike. 2014's are out and I am ready for something new. I have put 10,000 mile on this one since October 2012. Bought it brand new from California Harley in Harbor City. The bike comes with the remaining warranty from Harley PLUS....BIG PLUS is it comes with the remaining Pit Pass If you are in Southern California this is really and incredible value. Pit Pass is a service contract that covers all the regular servicing. This is an unlimited mileage service plan for 4 years There are over three years remaining on the Pit Pass California Harley will pick up the bike (free within 20 mile radius) Do all of the regular servicing called for in the manual pre paid Expires October 2016 Just had the 10,000 service done for the sale This bike is ready for another 5,000 miles before you have to do a thing The bike is beautiful to look at. The Ember Red Sunglo paint was an optional special color She has been garage kept both at home and work I have underground parking at my office. ** There are two flaws on this otherwise it is perfect as the day I bought it. 1) Small ladybug size chip on tank (pictured) 2) Someone backed into the bike and hit the left tail light. The paint chipped at the base of the tail light and it also made a slight bow on the fender left side. I actually did not notice this at the time, but a Harley mechanic pointed it out. Pretty minor. To fix and repaint both is about $1000 \ tank $400, Fender $600. This bike and all of the Harley's I have had deliver perfect performance on every ride. There is plenty of power to spare and the ride is like silk She lays so nicely into the curves. Tracks very straight. I did add an extended (2.5 inch) heal shifter lever My left foot would not fit evenly with the right on the running board. The bike is perfect except for the two flaws I detailed above. I get compliments everywhere I take her. Delivers 42 miles per gallon week in and week out. I open her up a little each morning when I get on the freeway I like to kiss 100 MPH as a wake up and then back her down to a pretty steady 75-80 the rest of the way. I am early morning so not a lot of stop and go. The biggest asset of this bike for me is the low ride. I am 5'8'' I am flat footed when I come to a stop with my knees bent. She is easy to push backwards and forwards. I will continue to ride her until she is sold, so that's 60 miles a day .You will have to add that to the mileage I have listed. Here are some specs as published by Harley Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe : Motorcycle Cruiser : Harley-Davidson USA Length 94.7 in. Seat Height, Laden 24.5 in. $14,999.00 7146084330

Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India

Fri, 18 May 2012

India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.

Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary Party Is Just A Week Away

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Harley-Davidson has been preparing for its 110th anniversary party for the past year, celebrating in 11 countries on six different continents. In the past year, Harley-Davidson employees, dealers and riders have shared thousands of amazing experiences, including a ride through the Tibetan Plateau in China, a parade along the beaches of Sao Paulo and even a Papal blessing. But now the party is coming home to Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend, which promises to be the biggest celebration of them all.  Milwaukee residents have always been cordial hosts for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts who make the journey to the City of Festivals from around the world. One Anniversary tradition is the welcoming home of thousands of riders by Milwaukee area residents who stand on the city’s highway overpasses with homemade welcome signs as riders arrive in Milwaukee.

Zero Motorcycles Promotes Askenazi to CTO

Tue, 24 May 2011

Zero Motorcycles has promoted Abe Askenazi to the position of chief technology officer. A former Buell engineer, Askenazi joined Zero Motorcycles in 2010 as vice president of engineering where he played a vital role in developing the company’s 2011 line-up, overhauling over 80% of Zero’s existing electric motorcycle line-up while adding the Zero XU and street legal versions of the Zero X and Zero MX in just 10 months on the job. “Abe’s ability to effectively execute on an aggressive product development plan, select the best new technologies and rally his team is remarkable.
