Harley-Davidson Softail description

This bike was purchased by me in 2013 with 13 miles on it, from a young lady who felt it was too much for her to handle safely.  I just sold my 1946 Indian Chief which got 99 out of 100 points in a specialty show, and I was afraid I would scratch or dent it driving it in the city of Chicago so I was looking for something more practical.  I've owned and restored a number of nice cruisers and this is, by far, the most comfortable and easy to ride.  I've had no time to ride this beautiful bike and, therefore, have put less than 15 additional miles on it.  I start it on a regular basis and ride around the block occasionally to keep the fluids circulated and seals wet. There are no leaks, squeaks or other mechanical concerns.  The oil was changed last year and was new appearing.  I replaced the battery last year and, after recharging, it started instantly this year.  The pictures included with this listing were taken 6/8/2016.

It has the factory installed security system without the siren.  It comes with two hands free fobs in which I just placed new batteries.  Will also include the original owners manual, the factory supplied Harley battery tender and an optional"Screamin Eagle" ignition module with installation disc. as well as 6, 105th year anniversary stickers. Has Vance and Hines Long Shots which give it a great throaty V-Twin sound.

I had some new Springer bags customized with kangaroo leather lacing to match the paint, as well as custom matching conchos.  They are expensive bags and are mounted on quick release pegs and are very handy.  There is a windshield matching bag, also with matching concho, for gloves, registration papers etc.

There's not too much else to say about this bike.  Counting the accessories, it's about half the price of a new FLSTN .  It's not new but any imperfections are minimal and, if you could live with 96 cubic inches instead of 103, you should have no disappointments and just as much fun.  I really would rather not sell it but I've got a couple of restoration projects going including a 1961 E-Type Jaguar and I'm still employed so I'm afraid this bike would continue to be unused.

I don't see any concerns with this bike but you are welcome to come and examine it in Chicago, Illinois, before bidding.  Because it is not new it is being sold AS-IS.  It could be either be picked up or I will work with the shipper of your choice.

The photos should give you a pretty good idea as to how nice this bike is but don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Thanks for your interest.

A Man of LOVE

Fri, 24 Oct 2008

I had a unique opportunity this week to sit down with Oliver Shokouh, the founder of the Love Ride, only days before the 25th anniversary of the purportedly largest one-day rally in the world, kicks-off this coming Sunday, October 26. First and foremost I’m very grateful for Oliver to set aside over half an hour of his precious time so close to the event. Not only does he head-up this massive event, he’s also busy running the very busy and successful Harley-Davidson/Buell of Glendale (California).
