Harley-Davidson Softail description

This was a 2000 Softail standard (FXST) when I purchased it from Harley in March of 2000. After its first year and 3000 miles I started the rebuild it to what you see today, it has taken over 10 years to do. I done this over time due to money and it was my only bike and I love to ride. I will just list some of the things done to make this happen. I also would like to say that there are only 4 things on the bike that are custom made and if you needed them you would have to have them made or fabricated to match up with what is already there.

BDL primary drive Belt, Baker transmission with kicker in a Harley shell, screaming eagle 255 cams big bore and heads,

front duel brakes, handle bars, risers, mirrors, lower chin, S&S carb with 3rd circuit installed, custom shift linkage, head light, forks, grips, triple tree with 5 deg. off set, oil filter, oil pressure gauge, rear rim with brakes and 240 tire, rear fender,

Rear running lights with plate mount, brake lights, swing arm, screaming eagle ignition, seat and pan, Paint, NOS bottle with mounts. and more...

Please ask questions don't let this get away.

Canadian publication Cycle Canada had some fun on a photoshoot for its review of the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight for the July issue. As Pete wrote in our own review, the Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight has a rugged, bobber-inspired look with its chopped fender, chubby front tire and underslung mirrors. For the guys over at Cycle Canada, the Forty-Eight conjured up a rather odd image: roller derby.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 2012 Results

Tue, 23 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson reported a profit of $134.0 million dollars over the third quarter of 2012. That represents a 27% decrease from the net profit of $183.6 million reported over the same quarter of 2011, but the drop was an expected result from a planned decrease in third quarter shipments as Harley-Davidson adopts an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing system at its York, Pa., factory. The Milwaukee company shipped 52,793 motorcycles in the three months ended Sept.
