Harley-Davidson Other description

Up for sale is one of the sweetest bikes Big Dog ever put out....2004 Big Dog Chopper! This sled is top shelf from top to bottom. It all starts with an S&S 107 inch motor (1750cc) and like you would expect it is all chromed out. The custom air filter directs the life-blood of air to a S&S Super G carb.
The huge rear tire can take every bit of power this engine pumps out. The bike needs nothing, except a rider. The vivid black paint shines, as does the custom one piece alum wheels. The chrome sissy bar gives this ride that old school look everyone is wanting now, plus added neon green LED lights. It also has a passenger pad that mounts on the rear fender with suction cups, and yes....it is very secure. If you are looking for a low miles bike (12,350) and have always wanted to own one of these beasts....well now is your chance! I bought this ride in 2011 from the original owner with 10,000 miles on it. That means I've only put a little over 2,000 on it in the last 5 yrs. and that's because I have other bikes I ride more. When this bike was sold new it cost around $25,000. It has a brand new battery and a clear and clean title. It is always covered in the garage. My asking price is fare as I believe the bike is worth much more. But its time to make room for other toys. Thanks for reading the ad and if you have any questions you can call me at 785-506-2506. My name is Randy.
I do not need any help selling this motorcycle and am not interested in any trades.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

Antiques Roadshow Visits Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

While on location in the Black Hills of South Dakota, PBS’s Antiques Roadshow stopped by the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum to film a segment on motorcycle toys. In the segment host Mark L. Walberg talks with vintage toy expert Noel Barrett about various American-made, antique, cast iron motorcycle toys. Barrett shares the history of these early toys, some tips about how one might tell a reproduction from the real thing, and offers his valuation on several highlighted examples. Walberg also takes a ride on a vintage Harley-Davidson Servi-Car.
