Harley-Davidson Confirms Project Livewire Will Appear In Avengers Movie
Fri, 25 Jul 2014From the “Unless-You’ve-Been-Living-Under-A-Rock” department comes Harley-Davidson’s announcement today at the San Diego Comic-Con, that H-D’s first electric motorcycle, the Livewire, will indeed be used in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron movie as the ride of choice for Natasha Romanoff (a.k.a. Black Widow) played by Scarlett Johansson, in an epic scene with Captain America in the film. The B-day celebration will be followed by a V-Twin Cruise-In on July 13 and punctuated by a summer-long exhibit entitled Arlen Ness: Art on Two Wheels. The July 12th birthday party is open to the public and the $95 ticket price puts you in the company of Arlen and other customizing aristocrats and also includes cocktails and dinner.
Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson
Tue, 17 May 2011Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says Jeffrey I.
