1947 Harley Davidson UL Flathead Milwaukee Iron Board Track Bike

One of a kind Milwaukee Iron Board Track Racer, the last bike built with Gary Woodford before his untimely death in 2005. Built for the Discovery Channel series "Southern Steel" with Mikwaukee Iron owner Randy Simpson and myself. This truely unique bike is the only one ever built with a generator style motor. This one has a completely stock  rebuilt 1947 UL, 74 inch flathead motor. The motor was completely rebuilt to OEM specs including a stock bore and finish by the expert flathead builders at Harbor Vintage Motor Co in Jonesville VT. The driveline is a Linkert carburated 74" UL Flathead and a 1936-1964 style foot shift operated 4 speed transmission. The engine and transmission are connected by a Rivera Primo Classic belt drive with a pro model clutch. The final drive is a Diamond XLO o-ring style lube free chain.

Every piece on the bike is custom made, one off with large amounts of polished stainless steel and aluminum billet. Stopping power is supplied by HHI 4 piston calipers and custom 21" front and rear wheels with Avon Venom tires. The electonics are housed in a combination oil tank / electrical box. This is an easy kick start and seamlessly shifting driveline combination. Electric is supplied by a V-Twin 17 amp compact chrome alternator and a Big Boar 300 amp battery.

Pictures don't do the bike justice and it draws a crowd where ever it goes. The bike is flawless and show no signs of wear, The tank and fender are finished in BC/CC urethane black and red with gold striping. All the other colored parts are gloss black powdercoat. The custom made seat pan was expertly covered in hand dyed leather by Roberti. Lastly let me tell you this bike is down right fun to ride and is one heck of a conversation peice. I have a clean registration in hand as NYS doesn't use titles for vehicles older than 1972.

Michael Jackson in Speed Demon [video]

Fri, 26 Jun 2009

Michael Jackson was not known for riding motorcycles, he did own a 2001 Harley-Davidson that was on the action block earlier this year that was listed for $6,000 – $8,000, I never heard if it was sold or not.  We all have our different opinions about the mega pop star but we can all agree that he was larger than life and truly a boy in a mans body, case in point, take a look at the “Speed Demon” video that features Jackson on a bicycle, motorcycle and scooter, sort of… The “Speed Demon” video is available after the jump. Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Team Unveils Restyled V-Rod Drag Bikes

Fri, 09 Mar 2012

The Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines racing team unveiled its restyled V-Rod drag motorcycles ahead of the first Pro Stock Motorcycle round of the 2012 NHRA Full Drag Racing series. Reigning champion Ed Krawiec and Andrew Hines will compete for the Harley-Davidson team on new V-Rod drag bikes, restyled to more closely resembled the Night Rod Special production model. This marks the first restyling of Harley-Davidson’s NHRA competition bikes since the V-Rod entered the competition in 2002, and comes as The Motor Company celebrates the V-Rod’s 10th anniversary.“The goal was to make the drag racing motorcycles look more like the current production Night Rod Special motorcycle,” says Kris Schoonover, Harley-Davidson racing manager.
