Up for auction is this very rare Harley Davidson M-50 in very good shape for its age. this bike has 1,250 original miles minimal rust and is only missing the rear tail light cover. it starts first kick almost every time and is surprisingly pretty quick. it has new fuel lines and new fuel filter. the inside of the tank is a little rusty could be cleaned. the speedo cable should be replaced, and the lights are not getting power but should be a simple fix.
if i don't receive enough interest i will be restoring it and selling for full retail... they have sold restored for $22,000 usd in auction. The 1965 Harley-Davidson catalog described this M50 Sport Cycle as "not a toy but a lot more fun" and aimed sales at younger riders by suggesting it as "a way to come and go as you please without asking for the family wheels." Manufactured in Italy by Aermacchi, the M50 was H-D's $225 response to the wave of inexpensive scooters and small motorcycles coming in from Japan. Only marketed for two years (1965 and 1966), this example has been completely restored to showroom condition and rides on Goodyear 2.50-17 4-ply tires. MSF Begins Year-long Real World Motorcycle Safety Study

For years, the M has been offering free factory tours of its operations in York, Pa., Kansas City, Mo., Tomahawk, Wis., and Menomonee Falls, Wis., facilities. In 2009, Harley-Davidson introduced a premium tour that takes guests into “employee-only” areas called the “Steel Toe Tour” at its Menomonee Falls location.

Thu, 25 Apr 2013Harley-Davidson reported 15.9% increase in motorcycle revenue despite selling 9.1% fewer motorcycles over the first quarter of 2013. According to the company’s first quarter 2013 report, Harley-Davidson recorded revenues of $1.15 billion from motorcycle sales, compared to $995.9 million in the same quarter of 2012. At the same time, Harley-Davidson sold 54,254 motorcycles worldwide over the first quarter, down from 59,677 motorcycles in the same period last year.
