Harley-Davidson FXE description

1977 Harley Davidson  Shovelhead 1200

This is an FXE. Old school FLH looks with some patina. KICK ONLY. Easy to start though.

Engine professionally rebuilt. Has an early swing arm and juice drum brake rear end. Belt drive hidden behind a tin primary. Rivera Primo clutch. It's running an Evo CV carb but the original Keihin goes with the bike. Points ignition. New battery. New regulator. New tires. True duals exhaust. O-ring chain.  This bike is set up to be a daily rider.  I have an aluminum primary that goes with the bike if you want to add a starter.

Clear Texas title in my name. Just passed state inspection. Ready to ride.

Currently insured, inspection and road tax good through August 2016.

Detailed information:

Wheels: Wheels rebuilt on factory Harley hubs with three new rear bearings and two new front bearings.  New black rims.  New stainless spokes.

Seat:  New leather seat.  The pogo seat spring is fully functional and is currently set up for a 200lb rider.

Brakes.  New rear shoes and slave cylinder.  New front and rear rubber brake lines.  The front pads are good and the bannana caliper is set up right.

Tires.  The front and rear tires are new with less than 1000 miles on them.  Shinko Super Classic 270.

Transmission:  It's set up with a Rivera Primo clutch which cost $450.  It makes neutral easy to find and the bike does not try to creep forward when you hold in the clutch lever.  The mainshaft and clutch rod seals are new and the mainshaft has a special spacer with an O-ring that eliminates the dreaded 4 speed oil leak.  It has the heavy duty Panhead style throwout bearing.  New clutch cable.

Engine:  The previous owner told me that it was rebuilt by a shop with a good reputation here locally.  It runs good with minimal leaks.  My next project was to replace the rocker box seals as they weep a little.  Overall though, this bike is very tight for a shovelhead.

Fuel system: Evo carb with accelerator pump and on body choke knob.  Upgraded to late style manifold with poly seals and aircraft style clamps - so no vacuum leaks at the manifold.  New throttle cable.

Stuff that goes with the bike:

Aluminum primary cover that accepts a starter.
Original Bendix starter and solenoid - unknown condition
Original Keihin carburetor and spam can air cleaner. - good condition but could use a rebuild
Spare BDL primary belt - new.
Two spare oil filters - new.
Passenger foot pegs.
Chrome battery cover - good condition but chrome won't get you home.
Not everybody lives in Texas so I'm including the original front and rear turn signal lights.
Tail light assembly - original shovelhead style.
Mallory E-spark electronic ignition.  The Blue Streak points on the bike work great and I never got around to installing this.

2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout Recalled for Faulty Fuel Indicators

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Harley-Davidson is recalling 2013-2014 Breakout models, including CVO versions, because the fuel level indication system may not be properly reading the correct amounts of fuel. As of this publishing, recalls have been announced by government agencies in Australia and Canada; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet posted a recall but U.S.-based members of the Harley-DavidsonForums.com report American dealerships have already started receiving recall bulletins. According to a recall announcement by Transport Canada, some Breakout and CVO Breakout models may run out of fuel despite the fuel and range indicators indicating there is still enough fuel in the tank.

A custom Harley-Davidson Street 750

Thu, 29 Jan 2015

This amazing motorcycle was built in just four weeks in a workshop located 300 kilometers south of Harley-Davidson's Indian factory. The project came to life thanks to the efforts of Rajputana Customs and H.-D., which provided Street 750 as a donor. The first upgrade to the bike was a Suzuki GSX-R sport fork with stiffer springs and longer travel.
