Harley-Davidson FLH description
Hello, Thanks for Looking. Up for sale is a real piece of Americana, an all original 1968 Harley Davidson FLH "Shovelhead" It has only 17,000 + original miles on it. I have the original title and it is clear with no issues. This Bike has been in my Family for almost 20 years and I bought it from a friend who owned it for 12 years. It has only had 4 owners and is in perfect running condition. There is no rust on the bike at all. it does have a few minor scratches but it is also almost 50 years old. It was repainted and the engine was completely rebuilt between 2005-2007 I have all paperwork on the rebuild and the original Owners manual as well. I have only put roughly 2,000 miles on it since the rebuild. When I bought it I put on the ape hangers, the dual fish pipe exhaust and the disc front brake on for safety reasons (It only had a drum brake on the rear.) This Bike is my Baby and as you can see I have taken great care of it. But do to having a new Baby on the way I must get rid of this one, I gotta make the Wife happy. I had the original headlight nacille and chain guard chromed to match the Bike in 2014. I put LED bulbs in the dash console and there are no pits or tarnishing on any of the chrome. I have the original buddy seat for it as well. For homeowners Insurance purposes the Bike appraised for 18,500 by Farmers insurance in 2013. The Bike has the original 74 cubic inch motor and it fires right up. You just can't beat old USA craftsmanship, this Bike runs better than my 02 road king. The Bike is going to turn heads everywhere you go and people will want to take pictures with it and buy it from you all the time. Like I said only took it out to ride down the Vegas strip or go to Bike Rallys in Laughlin and Reno. In 2014 I was at Street Vibrations and a Representative from Harley Davidson told me that this is one of the nicest 68's he has ever seen and that there is only about 100 left in the world in this condition. On Monday July 25th, I am taking the bike to my Mechanic so he can put a new battery in it, oil change and a complete safety check for the new owner so you know the bike is in perfect working order at the time you bought it. I am sad to part ways with my Girl but I hope you will enjoy this piece of Americana as much as I have. Please have cash ready to go and if you make an offer please make it reasonable because I have already priced the bike well with equity in it. Take Care and Be Safe. Once the Bike is paid for we can work out he details of Shipping it. If you live in california or Arizona I may be able to meet you half way to help you out.

Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson
Tue, 17 May 2011Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says Jeffrey I.

Easy Rider 40th Anniversary
Tue, 27 Oct 2009Peter Fonda, who played Wyatt in the 1969 cult classic, Easy Rider, was in Glendale, CA on Friday to help promote the Blu-Ray release of the film which marks the 40th anniversary. The movie was scheduled to be shown at the Love Ride event that was canceled this year, instead the film screened at a local Harley-Davidson dealer. One of the film’s main objective was to expose violence and racism in the U.S. in a negative light but instead it seems that it was taken the wrong way with most, glorifying the lifestyle that was portrayed in the film.
