Ducati Supersport description

For sale is a 2000 DUCATI 900 Super Sport in near mint condition with 25,310 miles.  900 cc. engine.

I bought the bike from a friend's father, a BMW enthusiast who had wanted a Ducati.  He fell ill a few years after purchasing it, and was unable to ride.  He took very good care of the bike while he was active, and kept it in storage with his BMWs until selling it to me.  It had been fully serviced, including belts and valves, when he bought it at 13,000 miles.  It fell over once from a stand still, and the Fairings and Gas Tank were professionally touched up and repainted.

The bike has a $900+ Ferracci Carbon Fiber Exhaust system on it (Fast by Ferracci Performance Exhaust), and within the last 1000 miles has had:

-Oil and Filter changed

-K&N High Performance Air Filter installed

-New Brakes

-New Rear Tire

-New Battery

The 900 cc. engine runs exceptionally well, and is in like new condition.  The bike has always had all maintenance and service done, professionally and on time.  It will be coming due for it's next scheduled valve service pretty soon, so I have adjustd the price accordingly.

I've had the bike for two years.  I rode some the first summer, but have been out of town most of the time since then.  I took it for short rides here and there, but it has mostly been in storage until a month ago.  I recently got a job overseas, and need to sell the bike before I leave.

I'm located south of Erie, north of Pittsburgh, in Meadville, PA.  If you have questions, or would like to see the bike, please call Reed, at (978) 729-4043, or ask questions through this listing.

The winning buyer may also purchase the following equipment if desired:

-Shoei TZ-R Full Face Helmet with clear shield & tinted shield  in size Medium.  Matte Black. (new was $290) for $175.

-Icon Merc Long Gloves.  size 2XL.  Stealth Black.  ($90 new).  for $45

-Icon Accelerant Perforated Leather Jacket with removable liner in size Large.  Black.  (new was $350)  for $200.

NADA Blue Book price for this bike in this condition is over $4000.

Buyer is responsible for local pickup or making arrangements for shipping.

Ducati 1199 Panigale RS13 unwrapped

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Maybe I'm wired up wrong but these pictures of the Alstare Ducati 1199 Panigale are, to me, more exciting than the latest Sports Illustrated cover. Just look at that tight chassis, the flowing curves and those cans tucked just out of sight and then compare that to the model on the right. I know what I'd rather spend the day with.

Volkswagen Reveals Ducati Panigale-Powered XL Sport

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

The Volkswagen Group-Ducati relationship has finally birth its first child, with the German manufacturer revealing the XL Sport concept car powered by the 1199 Superleggera‘s V-Twin engine at the Paris Motor Show. Though only a concept model, the XL Sport received the special honor of being the 200 millionth vehicle produced by the Volkswagen. #456475582 / gettyimages.com Based on the earlier limited-production VW XL1 car, the XL Sport swaps out its diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain for Ducati’s 1199cc engine which claims 197 hp and 98.8 ft-lb.

Rossi & Ducati: 2011 vs 2012

Thu, 26 Jul 2012

It was meant to be an Italian dream reminiscent of the era when Giacomo Agostini dominated Grand Prix with MV Agusta, but ever since Valentino Rossi joined Ducati he has dwindled into a mid-pack runner. There have been glimmers of hope, a Ducati-best for Rossi in the rain at Le Mans and a good showing in the last round at Mugello. Clearly his best dry weather performance, finishing 11 seconds behind the race winner and within eye-shot of the podium.
