Ducati Superbike description

This is a rare chance to own a 2005 Ducati 999r (one of only two hundred produced) motorcycle that is in absolutely new condition with just 1500 miles!!! It has spent the last several years in a heated/cooled indoor space and has been started and ran periodically (and starts ans runs perfect). The 999R is an amazing track machine with the Desmodromic 4 valve v-twin putting out an astonishing 150HP capable of reaching a top speed of 170 MPH. If you know motorcycles, you will know the storied race history of this specific design, it simply dominated on the track. An opportunity like this possession is rare as this will be and is a true collector! I have the receipt for the $3K exhaust upgrade done at Delono Ducati in MN. The service advisor at the Ducati dealership says the only recomended service (if you really wanted) would be new belts and the dealer charges $350. The bike starts and runs perfect! You will not find a cleaner example of a 2005 in the Mid-West, if not the country!  It was adult driven and has never seen the track nor has it been abused.  The red key is missing and will not be part of the sale.  The seller reserves the right to end this auction without notice.  Shipping will be the responsibilty of the buyer. I am selling this bike as part of an estate to help a friend, please email with any questions.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
