1987 Ducati Indiana 650. This was Ducati's attempt at a Sportster like cruiser. 5 speed Electric start, with a (bullet proof) 650 pantah motor... Not sure, but only a hand full (under 1000) made and shipped to the US? Many were savaged for their motors for racing. Often mistaken for an Asian v twin. Rare, and unusual piece of Ducati history. Collectable, ride able, smooth and powerful. A must for the serious Ducati collector. Good condition. 19,364 miles. Piaggio Opening New Design Center in US

Piaggio announced it is opening a new design center in Pasadena, Calif., to be headed by Aprilia RSV4 designer Miguel Galluzzi. Roberto Colaninno, chairman and chief executive officer of  the Piaggio Group, announced plans for the new Advanced Design Center at a dealer convention for the Piaggio Group Americas in Miami, Fla. At the moment, North American customers usually have to wait a little longer before they receive new Piaggio models, with most models arriving on these shores months after they are available in Europe.

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
