Ducati Other description

Up for auction is my beloved 1970 Ducati 450 mark 3D DESMO. These 450 Mark 3s are very hard to find and probably one of the rarest Ducati's you can own right now, i have seen a few dismantled "project bikes" pop up over the years, but a complete one in good running original un-restored state is a rare find . It is in running condition and driven often to "Bike night" and other gatherings. The bike is cosmetically original, but had quite a bit of mechanical work done to get back road worthy after a looong stent of sitting. The DESMO head has: new Valves, upper bevel shaft and cam bevel gears were replaced "new matched set from overseas", cam bearings, and the upper and lower rockers where re-shimmed, the  clutch was gone through, front forks where rebuild and rear was replaced with koni's (slightly taller than stock), carb was rebuild, chain was replaced, brakes where serviced, and a bunch of other stuff i can't remember was done to it. The Tank is in good shape, clean inside, and the original chrome looks great for a 46year old bike (there is one very small ding above the right side badge), the side panels have the original decals on them and are in original paint as well. The carb is factory dellorto with the velocity stack and screen that where on the bike when i found it, and the exhaust is a race megaphone that sounds amazing (i also have the factory slash cut silencio that i will include, but it needs to be re-chromed).. the seat has some seam pop where it meets the tank, but feels good, has a good pan, and has the original aluminum trim pieces ,original rear badge, and matches the bike (it is an italian recover, I do have the original cover). This bike is currently tagged and registered in Georgia; Georgia is a non-title state for old vehicles such as this and a Bill of sale will be provided with the sale. please ask any questions before bidding. I do have some other goodies that will go with the bike.. I have a video of it starting and running, copy and past this into your searchbar:  https://youtu.be/WK4cI9TnkBE

thanks for looking! happy bidding

Ducati Issues Rear Brake Recall for Several 2012 Models

Tue, 08 May 2012

Ducati is issuing a recall on several 2012 models because of a problem with the rear brake. The models included are the 848 EVO, the Streetfighter 848, the Hypermotard 796, the ABS-equipped versions of the Multistrada 1200, and the Monsters 796 and 1100 EVO. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the friction material on the rear brake pads may detach from the backing plate, resulting in a drop in rear braking efficiency and increased stopping distance.

Supporting Pegram will be his long-time title sponsor, Foremost Insurance Group, along with EBR sponsors AMSOIL and Hero MotoCorp.

2014 WSBK – Portimao Results

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes extended his championship lead while a Race Two collision between Aprilia teammates Sylvain Guintoli and Marco Melandri provided drama in the World Superbike Championship round at Portugal’s Portimao track. Sykes qualified on the pole in a sun-draped Superpole session but the clouds rolled in on race day, forcing teams to plan for mixed weather. An overcast sky presided over a dry Race One, leading to a mix of tire choices but all of the racers switched to wet tires for Race Two that saw the scheduled 20-lap length reduced to 18 laps.
