The 1100 S features a carbon fiber front mudguard, carbon fiber cam belt covers, variable-section alloy handlebars fitted with vibration isolator mounts, and a Superbike derived Öhlins suspension. The combination of a versatile Trellis frame and high performance suspension components provides true Superbike performance capable of lightning-quick cornering and extreme riding precision. 43 mm Öhlins forks with low friction TiN fork sliders are complemented by a fully adjustable Öhlins rear shock with remote preload adjustment to ensure road holding reminiscent of a Superbike. Effenbert-Liberty Withdraws from Superstock 1000 Cup – Two Less Ducati 1199 Panigales in Competition

Mere days after promoting racer Brett McCormick to its World Superbike team, Effenbert-Liberty Racing has announced its withdrawal from the Superstock 1000 Cup. Effenbert-Liberty was one of the higher-profile teams that were planning to compete in the Superstock 1000 Cup on the Ducati 1199 Panigale. Until this week, the team had planned to field McCormick and Federico Sandi in the Superstock series alongside its three-man WSBK team of Sylvain Guintoli, Jakub Smrz and Maxime Berger on the Ducati 1198.

Following the debut of the new 899 Panigale during Audi‘s presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ducati held a separate, smaller press conference with the motorcycle press at its headquarters in Bologna, Italy, to discuss the new “Supermid” sportbike and the company’s Chief Executive Officer Claudio Domenicali discussed the state of the company after a year under its new ownership. “Audi is a stakeholder who wishes to be involved in the technical development of the company and to focus its efforts on product development. Now, a year after the acquisition, it is time to take stock of the initial results and look to the future with a positive and proactive attitude,” says Domenicali.  “Ducati achieved record sales in 2011 and again in 2012 when over 44,000 motorcycles were delivered to customers.

Ducati never made an 848R

There never was an 848R, or S or SP. Ducati just made the 848 and then tweaked it by adding Brembo monobloc brakes and a slightly more powerful motor to produce the 848 EVO. The owner of this 848 has really gone to town, billing his bike as an 848R.
