Ducati Multistrada description

Selling on behalf of a friend, an older gentleman who is incapacitated and can no longer ride. Last registered in 2014. I restore motorcycles professionally and have owned an 1100S Multistrada so I am familiar with this model. I've checked out the motorcycle and it runs and handles perfectly. It has a brand new battery. There are superficial scratches from the owner tipping it over in the driveway a few times, but the frame sliders and bar ends took most of the impact and there is no broken or damaged plastic. The bike has always been garaged and the tires are like new although they have older manufacturing codes (2008 and 2009). The gas gauge doesn't work (lo gas light stays on) due to a common problem with the fuel sensor wiring. The fault code is Error 7.2 - "fuel sensor short circuit to ground". This causes the engine light to stay on as well. There are a few of the tiny rubber bumpers missing from the pannier rack, easily replaced. The Catalytic converter was removed at some point and replaced with straight through pipes. I don't know why or whether the bike's ECU has been remapped; I do know that it runs like new. The original seat and CAT are supplied with the sale.

These bikes are powerful, fast, excellent handling machines, equally adept in the canyons or on longer road trips. Built with high ground clearance to go off road as well. One of the best dual sport, adventure touring bikes made. Buy this one for a fraction of the price of a new one!

10 points if you can guess what this bike is

Spotted outside my hotel in Assen. I'm not talking about the big red bike with DUCATI written on the fairing, no. I'm talking about the one it's locked together with.

Tyre warmers for the daily commute

Thu, 10 Dec 2009

Ducati's Streetfighter is a serious bit of kit. It's actually perfect for my daily commute, if not, slightly extravagant. It's narrow, nimble and precise.
