Ducati Moto Morini description

Please see the High Resolution Photographs for visual condition and Title.  This motorcycle is 40 Years old.  It has strong compression, it starts and runs rides as expected. The motorcycle does not leak, The transmission shifts well, clutch works well. The brakes function as expected. It does not smoke or make any unusual sounds.

It without question, holds the trump card of Cafe Racer cool.  The Italians definitely had their factory street racer visual and functional designs locked down (factory clip-ons, hump-back seat.)  A very beautiful design, the handling developed in the twisting mountain roads of Bologna, Italy, also Ducati's home base.

The 3 1/2 Sport makes for exciting acceleration, 37 Horse Power @ 8500 RPM.    It's a 40 year old  vintage bike, maintained but unrestored. The paint is appropriate for a motorcycle this age, it has a few flaws, but presents honestly and attractively.  The lucky new owner should plan on replacing the tires prior to daily use as these have become a bit hard over the years.  Also, the seat cover is checking and should probably be replaced.  The side stand went missing prior to my ownership. I have always used the center stand.

Please check back during the auction as I will post video soon of it running.

I have other horses in the stable, and am thinning the herd, so check my other auctions for uncommon German and Italian motorcycles.  I have been riding and collecting interesting motorcycles since 1987.  Time changes everything, and I am finally ready to let someone else enjoy owning some of them.

If you have the funds available for purchase, and would like questions answered I will return phone calls to U.S. numbers.  Please be a serious buyer if calling.  Leave a voice message at (nine O for) 23for-sixtyseven eighty.

A Moto Morini 3 1/2 Strata just sold May 23rd for $8,300.00. This is the more desirable and more valuable 3 1/2 Sport Model. This is a no reserve auction.  Please do not bid unless you intend to own it. The 1976  3 1/2 Sports are increasing in value and becoming more appreciated by new collectors every day.  Make it Yours !

848 Challenge: Official race report, Snetterton 300

Mon, 28 May 2012

Mike Edwards put a disappointing start to the season behind him with a win and a second place at Round Three of the Ducati 848 Challenge at the Snetterton BSB weekend. With a gritty ride to victory in Race One and a late charge to third in Race Two, Edwards (Ohlins @ P&H Motorcycles) managed to keep his championship hopes alive following a run of uncharacteristic crashes at the last two rounds.   Edwards said before Race One that he was going for a “win it or bin it” attitude this weekend as he desperately needed to make up the points he missed out on at Assen.

Rossi's Mugello helmet: Let's Stick Together

Sat, 14 Jul 2012

When I think of Mugello, I think of that huge start/finish straight, that Nakano crash and of course, Rossi's Mugello-only helmets. This year, the theme is 'let's stick together'. Just before Free Practice 3, Valentino Rossi unveiled his Mugello helmet, his message is: "Let's stick together" or "Restiamo uniti" in the style of the Italian entertainer Gianni Morandi.
