Like its bigger siblings the Ducati Monster 696 is fitted with the APTC wet clutch which improves stability under aggressive down-shifting. Moreover, the bike features the same lightweight tubular steel Trellis frame with aluminium rear sub-frame found at the Monster 1100 and 796 models. When designing the Monster 696 Ducati s engineers have spent a lot of time to carefully refine the bike s ergonomics. Thereby elements like the fuel tank, seat height and the steering lock were especially designed to maximize comfort. The 20th Anniversary edition is offered with a series of distinctive features such as the 1986 Ducati logo, the same colors as the 1992 Monster 900 and 90s style wing mirrors.

Moto2 needs more radical bikes

Wed, 05 Sep 2012

Makers of fine exhausts, Taylormade Racing have built a Moto2 racer that harks back to the innovative machines like the Elf Honda 500 and Britten V1000. Since Moto2's inception in 2010 the class has featured bikes with conventional chassis but the Taylormade bike, designed by Paul Taylor and John Keogh, has a radical design featuring a carbon-fibre monocoque frame, carbon-fibre swingarm, wishbone monoshock front suspension and an under-seat radiator. However, with such radical engineering the inherent problem is that it is a risk for teams to invest in such a project.

Gibernau, fresh from a win in Germany at the previous round - having beaten Rossi to the line by 0.060 seconds - was full of fight.

Ducati Desmosedici GP13 an Evolution, Not a Revolution

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Bernhard Gobmeier sounded cautiously optimistic about Ducati‘s MotoGP program, speaking at the Wrooom 2013 event following the unveiling of the Desmsedici GP13 racebike. Taking over as general manager of Ducati Corse, Gobmeier acknowledged his team had a lot of ground to make up if it hopes to pose a serious threat to Honda and Yamaha. Ducati got an early start on developing its 2013 program halfway through the 2012 season when it became apparent the Desmosedici GP12 was not competitive enough against the RC213V and the M1.
