Ducati Monster description

2004 Ducati Monster S4R

25,740 miles

Clean Title in Hand

Beautiful bike with the following tasteful modifications:

  • Competition Werkes Exhaust with decibel killers installed
    • Stock exhaust available if you want to quiet it down
    • Take the decibel killers out if you want to make it louder still
  • Arrow mid pipe with new exhaust gaskets installed
    • Stock “udder” available as well, to make it even quieter
  • MWR Air Filter/Air Box Cover
    • Stock air box lid and filter available, quieter still
  • Flywheel lightened by BCM Motorsports in NH
  • 24K mile service completed at Moto Milano this past year
    • Just completed another oil change this weekend
  • ECU “reflashed” by Houston Superbikes
  • Power commander 3 with custom map from Moto Milano Ducati in Maine
    • All of the above results in 117 hp and 75 lb. ft. of torque at rear wheel!
  • Saddleman Track Gel Seat
    • Stock seat is available but looks to have been “scooped” for a smaller rider by a previous owner
    • Seat cowl and beer tray
  • Shock Showa rebuilt by Cogent Dynamics
    • Custom spring Eibach Spring installed
  • Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Tires that are almost brand new
  • Ride height adjuster from a 749
  • Rizoma Sportline Grips and Classic Bar Mount Mirrors
  • Stock carbon fiber parts:
    • Front fender
    • Side covers
    • Belt covers
  • Aftermarket carbon fiber parts:
    • Rear tire hugger
    • Heel guards
  • This bike has a metal fuel tank that has had the inside of the tank lined, the hinge brazed and reinforced with JB Weld to prevent fuel leakage (common in these models)
    • This bike DOES NOT have the plastic fuel tank that is prone to warping
    • Custom silver stripe added and clear coated
  • Other minor add-ons:
    • Handlebar risers make the ride more comfortable
    • Tail tidy to clean up the look
    • K&N Crankcase Breather Kit
    • Rectifier and regulator relocation to keep them cool
    • Zero Gravity tinted windscreen

This bike can either be a mellow cruiser or pull a third gear power wheelie and flatten your eyeballs with a vicious rush of torque.  It will carve corners with the best of them or go to the grocery store for some beer.

Is it perfect?  No.  There are the minor scratches and nicks that you’d expect in a 12-year old bike.  However there are no major imperfections.  I don’t think this bike has ever been down.  It has not been down with me.

The bike is ready to ride for another two years without any major maintenance.   All receipts and manuals to go with the bike.

Bike is also available for sale locally.  I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.

Filippo Preziosi Resigns from Ducati

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Former General Manager of Ducati Corse Filippo Preziosi has resigned from the company, ending his 19-year career with the Italian manufacturer. Preziosi led Ducati‘s racing program for the last decade including its lone MotoGP championship in 2007, but the 44-year-old engineer also carries a lot of the blame for Ducati’s recent struggles including the doomed Valentino Rossi era. Preziosi held the position of GM of Ducati Corse until last November when he was replaced with former BMW Superbike manager Bernhard Gobmeier.

Open Letter from Ducati CEO About Italian Earthquakes

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Ducati Chief Executive Officer Gabriele Del Torchio has released an open letter addressing the recent earthquakes in Italy, and how they have affected the company. The Emilia region in northern Italy was hit by a 6.0-magnitude earthquake on May 20 and has continued to suffer from aftershocks including a second earthquake on May 29 that briefly halted production at Ducati‘s Bologna factory. In the letter, del Torchio writes about those who have lost their homes in the disasters and expresses thanks for fundraising efforts to help those in need.
