Buell Lightning description

1999 Buell X1 Carbon Extreme 18,345 miles very well maintained with synthetic oil and transmission fluid. Good tires with plenty of tread. This is a piece of American motorcycle history designed by Eric Buell. This is a tube framed sport bike with a 1203cc high performance variant of the Harley Davidson Sportster engine. This bike is part of a limited edition of only 250 carbon fiber clad machines. This was the first carbon fiber model ever offered. She runs very strong and is a beast. She has a small blemish on the tank cover (pictured), and the turn signals stopped working probably a short in the wiring. I do take her out for a short ride now and then, and she is very dependable. This bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. The buyer will be responsible for pick-up or shipping.

The closing of Buell Motorcycle Company by parent company Harley-Davidson was a major blow to the company’s namesake, Erik Buell. Many lesser men would have accepted defeat and moved on with their lives. Buell is not like most people.
