BSA lightning / thunderbolt description

Hello, this is a good running 1969 650cc BSA Lightning that has a single carb thunderbolt head, tank and covers. Frame and engine numbers match (lightning), top end was done less than 400 miles ago. Frame and most parts have been powder coated, chrome is very good, aluminum was polished. All new fork tubes and parts. No scrapes or dents anywhere, this is a super clean rider. Original seat has no tears. Has electronic ignition and new battery. Charging system works great thanks to a wassel hi-output stator. Tires are OK for the season.  Starts easily once to know the procedure, idles well, has good power. Is currently tuned for 8500 ft above sea level, if you live at or close to sea level you may need to do some carb adjustments. Right side shift. A good bike to just go have fun on, there are always people taking pictures of it when I stop to get gas.
Bike is sold as-is and comes with clear Colorado title and two keys. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs.I will do what I can from this end to assist in the loading of the motorcycle onto the shippers vehicle. I've used Haulbikes.com in the past with good success, you can get an online quote so you'll know what the shipping will be before you bid. Please only bid if you have the money available. Don't bid if your wife / girlfriend is going to veto the purchase or you have to borrow the money from someone else.
These are super cool old bikes and are going up in value. I have priced this low for a quick sale and happy buyer.  A $200 non-refundable deposit is due withing 24hrs of end of auction, balance is due in the form of a certified check within 7 days of end of auction. Please make arrangements for pick=up asap so I'm not storing this too long.
Thanks for looking and email me through ebay if you have questions.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump.
