This is a 1971 BSA 650 thunderbolt in all original condition except for petcocks, electronic ignition conversion and the original grey frame has been repainted black by the dealer when new. The original grey color was hated and a lot of dealers painted them so they would sell. Mileage is correct. Top end has been completely rebuilt with all new parts. New tires. Has Boyer electronic ignition. Runs like a top and everything works as it should. The oil frame BSA's are getting very hard to find and the later ones like this had the best motors of all the unit twins. Paint is original. Bike has State of CT registration and Bill of Sale. The revived BSA brand showed its first Gold Star model
Fri, 04 Mar 2022At last we have a brand new model of the beloved brand: after the success of Royal Enfield and Jawa, the British BSA has returned to service. The single-cylinder classic Gold Star will enter the European market - a spiritual successor to the original company's lineup, but with a completely modern filling. The novelty is equipped with a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, two overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder, a working volume of 652 cm3.
Man Builds Sidecar from Bathtub
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Back in 1997, an unusual motorcycle appeared on the front page of the Bristol Evening Post. Unable to afford a costly traditional sidecar, bus driver Alan Iles of Bedminster opted to build his own, using a bathtub. Twelve years later, the 1959 650cc BSA is still going and has been ridden all over Europe to help raise money for Cancer research and various charities, for which he has raised thousands of British pounds.
