N.B: Recent illness is forcing sale of this bike. It is in very good, well maintained condition but it is not a 'Starbucks Edition' GS. It has run the Dempster and the Dalton and has the scratches to prove it. If you are looking for an overland ready GS suitable to head north to Prudhoe this summer or south to Patagonia then this bike is the one. It would need a new set of tyres and a soft bag on the rear rack and the GPS software updated and it would be ready to go The bike is also being advertised locally in South Carolina so I reserve the right to withdraw it from sale.  Buyer collects although I will work with your shipper.

DUE TO TIME-WASTER PLEASE IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK MESSAGE ME BEFORE BIDDING.

Watch A BMW R1200GS Being Built From Start To Finish + Video

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

BMW’s venerable R1200GS has a lot of fans around the globe, including us. To my eyes, the GS does a fine job of maintaining a traditional dirtbike’s minimalist appearance, minus those bulging cylinders protruding from either end. But now more than ever, thanks to the introduction of liquid-cooling, the GS is a modern marvel of mechanical and electrical engineering.

EBR 1190 Wins 2011 European Superbike Championship

Wed, 02 Nov 2011

Harald Kitsch and the Pegasus Race Team has won its second championship on the EBR 1190RR, capturing the 2011 European Superbike open race class title. The championship follows Kitsch’s win in the 2010 Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship on the Erik Buell Racing racebike. While the Sound of Thunder championship was won against other V-Twin machines, the European Superbike class included sportbikes from the Japanese Big Four, BMW, Aprilia and Ducati.

EICMA 2012: BMW F800GT Announced as Replacement for F800ST

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

As we reported in August, BMW is replacing its F800ST sport tourer with a new, more touring-oriented version called the F800GT. Revealed at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, the 2013 BMW F800ST is equipped with a 798cc parallel Twin engine claiming 88 hp at 8000rpm, an increase from the BMW F800ST’s claim of 84 hp at 8000rpm (the 2012 F700GS and F800GS also claims 84hp from a similar engine.) Other changes include better wind protection, lighter wheels, new higher-mounted handlebars, repositioned footrests, and load capacity increased to 456 pounds from 432 pounds. Like all current BMW motorcycles, the F800GT comes standard with ABS.
