I have a very clean, low miles 2002 BMW R1150RT. Adaptiv GPS mount, Laminar flow, Aeroflow, Techlusion/chip, Custom Dynamics stop/run light bar, bar back/riser, saddlebags/top box extra high performance exhaust (not pictured), oil change less than 500 miles ago (Amsoil), Bridgestone tires with approximately 2,000-3,000 miles left, Sargent seat, shop manual, Z-Tech engine bars, exhaust wrap, K&N air filter, lowered footpegs/extenders and some extra parts/tools/stock parts included. The only thing that does not work is the electric windshield. (It actually does work only the worm gear slips on the nylon gear which I replaced). It is adjusted so that it is almost half way up. Some minor scratches on boxes from previous owner. Gets anywhere from 33-48 mpg depending on road/traffic etc. Ergonomically, it is just not the bike for me and I purchased another bike. 2012-2013 BMW S1000RR Side Stand Recall Expands to US
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Earlier this month, we reported a recall issued by Transport Canada for the 2012 and 2013 BMW S1000RR because of a problem with their side stands. That recall has now expanded to the U.S., affecting 2,385 units. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the side stand attachment bolts on the affect BMW S1000RR units can loosen because of a manufacturing fault.
Intermot 2012: 2013 BMW R1200GS Breaks Cover
Tue, 02 Oct 2012BMW pulled the covers off the latest iteration of its popular R1200GS, revealing a number of updates including a new boxer engine at the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. The German manufacturer has sold 170,000 units of the R1200GS since it was introduced in 2004, making it the world’s top-selling adventure-tourer, so BMW obviously has a lot riding on the new 2013 model. The biggest change for the 2013 BMW R1200GS is its new 1170cc engine.
