This is my Baby for the last 25 years..... "Old Reliable". We've seen a lot of territory together.
And as I am almost 67 yrs old it may be time ( we'll see ) to pass it along to the younger generation - and that, in comparison, should be a hella lot of you out there. Always a California bike, I'm the 2nd owner. Got it from Plam BMW in Santa Cruz ( that name will ring bells with the older Airhead set in the Bay Area ). **STAINTUNE STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM, BEAUTIFUL MUSIC** The engine was rebuilt in 2011 by Dave Gardner / Recommend Service, San Francisco. If you know Dave, you know it was done right. He's retired now, but in the day he was Dr. Boxer. It was the $6900 tune up..... ****IT NOW HAS 9040 MILES ON THE REBUILD**** Nikasil barrels, new cam, timing chain, pistons, heads rebuild by Kibblewhite of Pacifica CA ( another name that the cognisenti will know). The whole enchilada. The gearbox, BTW, was fine no issues. ****CHECK OU THE DRIVING LIGHTS - GIVE 'EM SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO LOOK AT, THAT'S MY STRATEGY**** It all works. It's a beauty. Strong. Reliable (duh...). If you're looking for Classic Airhead, well........ PLEASE NOTE: New front / back Metzler's with maybe 300 miles on 'em. Mon, 30 Sep 2013Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty each came away with a victory as the World Superbike Championship made its return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The first race featured two red flags, ironically caused by AMA Superbike regulars Danny Eslick and Roger Hayden, the two men with the most recent experience at the famed track. The second race was a much cleaner affair, with a dramatic finish, setting up the final two rounds of the championship.
